The aim of the study was to investigate the reliability and validity of the Trait Meta-Mood Scale in a Turkish sample. Trait Meta-Mood Scale (TMMS), The Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), Ruminative Response Scale (RRS), and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI)were administered to 387 (271 females and 113 males) university students with a mean age of 21.77 (SD = 1.65).In the present study, the Turkish model and the original model of TMMS were tested to examine which of the two model yields the better goodness of fit to the Turkish sample. Moreover, internal consistency coefficients were performed to examine the reliability of the original model. The results suggested that the original three-factor model fits the current sample better with valid and reliably scores for Turkish university students. The scale also showed acceptable inter-item reliability and adequate criterion-related validity. Particularly, Clarity of Feelings and Mood Repair were positively correlated with life satisfaction but Attention to Feelings was not. Additionally, rumination was negatively correlated to Clarity of Feelings and Mood Repair, but it was not significantly correlated to Attention to Feelings. Finally, depression was negatively correlated to all subscales of TMMS.

Turkish adaptation of the trait meta-mood scale
Aksoz, Idil; Bugay, Asli; Erdur Baker, Özgür (2010-02-08)
This study investigates the reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the Trait Meta-Mood Scale (Salovey, Mayer, Goldman, Turvey & Palfai, 1995). This scale was originally developed to measure the ability to understand one's mood, to find the degree to which individuals moderate their moods, and to find correspondences between feelings and thoughts. The Trait Meta-Mood Scale (TMMS) and Ruminative Response Scale (RRS) were applied to 319 university students. Confirmatory and exploratory factor analy...
Adaptation of the science motivation scale into Turkish and chemistry: Analysis of validity
Cetin-Dindar, Ayla; Geban, Ömer (Pegem Akademi Yayincilik Egitim Danismanlik Hizmetleri, 2015-3-1)
This study is an adaptation of Science Motivation Scale, developed by Glynn and Koballa, into Turkish and reports validity and reliability of the adapted scale. The sample consisted of 1354 high school students from Ankara and Edirne. The data collected from different types of high schools was analyzed and moderately similar factor structures were found as in the original scale. Based on the principal component analysis, four dimensions which were self-efficacy in learning science, anxiety about sci...
Applicability of the dyadic adjustment scale for marital quality with Turkish couples
FIŞILOĞLU, HÜROL; Demir, Ayhan Gürbüz (2000-01-01)
The study investigates the reliability and validity of the Turkish Dyadic Adjustment Scale (DAS). Scores of the DAS were studied for its reliability and validity. The sample consisted of 264 married individuals. The alpha coefficient for the DAS was .92. Computed split-half reliability coefficient was .86. The DAS correlated .82 with the Locke-Wallace Marital Adjustment Test. The original factor structure of the DAS was replicated in the present study. In general, the data indicated that the DAS provides a ...
Revised form of the belief in Good Luck Scale in a Turkish sample
Öner Özkan, Bengi (SAGE Publications, 2003-10-01)
The aim of the study was to explore the patterns of belief in luck in a Turkish sample. For this purpose, a shorter version of Freedman and Darke's Belief in Good Luck Scale was given, including some more items related to the beliefs in 'consistent' versus 'variant' patterns of luck. This scale, together with Turkish versions of Rosenberg's measure of Global Self-esteem, Rotter's Internal-External Locus of Control Scale, and the Satisfaction With Life Scale of Diener, Emmons, Larsen, and Griffin, was admini...
A new measure for adult attachment styles: The psychometric evaluation of Experiences in Close Relationships - Revised (ECR-R) on a Turkish sample
Selçuk, Emre; Günaydın, Gül; Sümer, Nebi; Uysal, Ahmet (2005-01-01)
In this study, the reliability and validity of Experiences in Close Relationships-Revised (ECR-R), a scale developed to measure adult attachment dimensions, were examined in a Turkish student sample. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses revealed that ECR-R has a two-factor solution representing attachment-related avoidance and attachment-related anxiety. The relationships of avoidance and anxiety dimensions with the related variables support the validity of ECR-R. Moreover, it is found that the dime...
