A new monomer, 4-(thiophen-3-yl methyleneamino)benzene sulfonate) (ThSA), was synthesized and characterized. Electrochemical polymerization of ThSA yields a water-soluble and self-doped polymer (PThSA). This polymer was characterized by FT-IR, NMR, DSC, XRD and conductivity measurements. Electrochromic properties of copolymer of terephthalic acid bis-(thiophen-3-yl-methyl) thioester with pyrrole
Tuerkarslan, Oezlem; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Informa UK Limited, 2007-01-01)
Terephthalic acid bis-(thiophen-3-yl-methyl) thioester ( TTMT) was synthesized via the reaction of thiophen-3-yl methanethiol with terephthaloyl dichloride. This 3-functionalized thiophene monomer was polymerized in the presence of pyrrole (Py) upon constant potential application. Spectroelectrochemistry experiments reflected a pi to pi* transition with a band gap energy of 2.4 eV for the copolymer. A dual type electrochromic device (ECD) of P(TTMT-co-Py) and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) was con...
Electrochemical properties of a new star-shaped pyrrole monomer and its electrochromic applications
Ak, Metin; Ak, Mine Sulak; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Wiley, 2006-08-02)
A new monomer, 2,4,6-tris(4-(1H-pyrroI-1-yl) phenoxy)-1,3,5-triazine (Tria-Py) was synthesized via the reaction,of 4-(1H-pyrrol-1-yl)phenol with 2,4,6-trichloro-1,3, 5-triazine. It was electrochemically polymerized in a dichloromethane/acetonitrile solvent mixture. The polymer P(Tria-Py) was characterized via CV, FTIR, SEM and uv-vis spectroscopy. Spectroelectrochemical analysis revealed electronic transitions at 346, 508 and 665, nm, revealing pi to pi* transitions, and polaron and bipolaton band formation...
Electrochemical copolymerization and characterization of dianilines linked by polyether bridge with aniline
TİRKEŞ, SEHA; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2010-04-01)
Copolymer of aniline and triethylene glycol bis(o-aminophenyl) ether was synthesized by constant potential electrolysis. Cyclic voltammogram of the copolymer films recorded in the monomer-free electrolytic solution revealed that the redox behavior of the films approaches to that of poly(triethylene glycol bis(o-aminophenyl) ether) with increasing amount of triethylene glycol bis(o-aminophenyl) in the feed ratio. Copolymerization was investigated by in situ recording the changes in the electronic absorption ...
Voltammetric methods of reboxetine analysis and the mechanism of its electrode reactions
Altunöz Erdoğan, Deniz; Erk, Nevin; Kilic, Esma (Walter de Gruyter GmbH, 2013-05-01)
Reboxetine (RBX) electrochemical redox behavior at hanging mercury drop (HMDE) and glassy carbon electrodes (GCE) was studied in various pH Britton-Robinson universal buffers using cyclic voltammetry and square-wave voltammetry. RBX was reduced at the HMDE and oxidized at the GCE with reversible adsorption controlled and irreversible diffusion controlled processes respectively. The anodic peak is due to the amine and the cathodic peak may correspond to oxygen protonation. An oxidation reaction mechanism is ...
Electrochromic performance and ion sensitivity of a terthienyl based fluorescent polymer
Atilgan, Nurdan; CİHANER, ATİLLA; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar (Elsevier BV, 2010-04-01)
A novel terthienyl based fluorescent polymer bearing strong electron-withdrawing substituents directly attached to the 3,4-positions of the central thiophene ring was synthesized by electrochemical polymerization of diethyl 2,5-di(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophen-2-yl)thiophene-3,4-dicarboxylate. The corresponding polymer was characterized by cyclic voltammetry, FT-IR and UV-vis spectroscopy. The polymer has a well-defined redox process (E-p,E-1/2 = 0.74 V) and demonstrates a reversible electrochromic behavior; li...
