Deterministic integrated tuning of multicavity resonances and phase for slow-light in coupled photonic crystal cavities
Gu, T.; Kocaman, Serdar; Yang, X.; McMillan, J.F.; Yu, M.B.; Lo, G.-Q.; Kwong, D.-L.; Wong, C.W. (AIP Publishing, 2011-03-21)
We present the integrated chip-scale tuning of multiple photonic crystal cavities. The optimized implementation allows effective and precise tuning of multiple cavity resonances (up to similar to 1.60 nm/mW) and intercavity phase (similar to 0.038 pi/mW) by direct local temperature tuning on suspended silicon nanomembranes. Through designing the serpentine metal electrodes and careful electron-beam alignment to avoid cavity mode overlap, the coupled photonic crystal L3 cavities preserve their high quality f...

Receptances of non proportionally and continuously damped plates Reduced dampers method
Özgüven, Hasan Nevzat (Elsevier BV, 1982-12-01)
This paper presents a method for the dynamic analysis of continuously and non-proportionally damped plates in bending modes. The damping can be in the form of constrained or unconstrained layers. The method is an extension of the equivalent dampers method discussed in a previous paper, in which the damping matrix of a discretized plate is replaced by a diagonal equivalent damping matrix. Each diagonal element represents an equivalent damper inserted between the structure and ground. In this method the numbe...
Nonperturbative effects in polarization phenomena for B->K*+gamma and B->K+pi+gamma decays
Pak, Namık Kemal; Rekalo, MP (1997-04-10)
Polarization characteristics of gamma-quanta, produced in decays B --> K* + gamma and B --> K + pi + gamma are studied in a general parity non-conserving framework. Polarization characteristics of gamma quanta for perturbative (i.e. shea distance) part of the matrix element of these decays are shown to be universal, independent of the process. Nonperturbative effects however violate such universality. (C) 1997 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
