the purpose of this study was to test the psychometric properties of the 49-item Diabetes Time Management Questionnaire (DTMQ) in individuals with diabetes. The (DTMQ) was designed to assess general time management skills and those specifically relevant to compliance to a diabetes healthcare regimen.

Electrophysiologic vestibular evaluation in type 2 diabetic and prediabetic patients: Air conduction ocular and cervical vestibular evoked myogenic potentials
Konukseven, Ozlem; Polat, Sefi Ka Burcak; KARAHAN, SEVİLAY; Konukseven, Erhan İlhan; Ersoy, Reyhan; Cakir, Bekir; Kutluhan, Ahmet; AKSOY, SONGÜL (2015-01-01)
Objective: Chronically increased blood glucose levels may affect the vestibular system by damaging cells and neural structures in diabetes mellitus (DM). We aimed to search the effects of neurovascular degeneration on the vestibular system in type 2 DM and prediabetic patients by using air-conducted ocular (oVEMP) and cervical (cVEMP) vestibular evoked myogenic potentials. Design: Prospective study. Study sample: Thirty diabetic, 30 prediabetic patients, and 31 age-and sex-matched controls having no periphe...
MATERNAL OBESITY EFFECT ON OFFSPRING PANCREATIC ENDOCRINE CELLS: INVESTIGATION OF THE CELL TRANSDIFFERENTIATION PROFILE THAT CAUSES DIABETIC SUSCEPTIBILITY
FEYAT, MEHMET SEDAT; Yanık, Tülin; Özçubukçu, Salih; Department of Biotechnology (2022-6-13)
In general, Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) is a disease characterized by impaired functioning of pancreatic beta cells and progressive insulin hormone deficiency progressively in combination with physiologically ongoing insulin resistance. In the later stages of the disease, beta cell dysfunction is defined as beta cell death and a decrease in functional cell count. It is a common clinical finding in patients with T2D that therapeutic drugs lowering insulin resistance and diet in the course of the disease treatment ...
Discovering missing heritability and early risk prediction for type 2 diabetes: a new perspective for genome-wide association study analysis with the Nurses' Health Study and the Health Professionals' Follow-Up Study
Gul, Husamettin; Aydın Son, Yeşim; Acikel, Cengizhan (2014-12-01)
Background/aim: Despite the rise in type 2 diabetes prevalence worldwide, we do not have a method for early risk prediction. The predictive ability of genetic models has been found to be little or negligible so far. In this study, we aimed to develop a better early risk prediction method for type 2 diabetes.
Epidermal growth factor-containing wound closure enhances wound healing in non-diabetic and diabetic rats
Dogan, S.; DEMİRER, SEHER; Kepenekci, I.; Erkek, B.; Kızıltay, Aysel; Hasırcı, Nesrin; MÜFTÜOĞLU, SEVDA FATMA; Nazikoglu, A.; Renda, N.; Dincer, U. D.; ELHAN, ATİLLA HALİL; Kuterdem, E. (2009-04-01)
Background: This study was designed to elucidate the in vivo efficacy of epidermal growth factor (EGF) on wound healing in non diabetic and diabetic rats.
Prediction of insulin resistance by statistical tool MARS
Örsçelik, Simge Gökçe; Weber, Gerhard Wilhelm; Osterhoff, Martin; Department of Bioinformatics (2014)
Recently, following the rise in obesity prevalence, the incidence of type 2 diabetes rose remarkably. Diabetes is a serious disorder, accompanied by increased risk of developing heart disease, kidney failure, and new cases of blindness. Dietary habits are strongly related to type 2 diabetes. We sought to observe how dietary protein and glycemic index patterns, weight change and/or other predictors we selected relate to insulin resistance change. First, we applied multiple linear regression, and then statist...
