A RISK-BASED MONITORING AND CONTROL STRATEGY FOR MICROPOLLUTANTS IN A RIVER BASIN
Pilevneli, Tolga; Yetiş, Ülkü; Department of Environmental Engineering (2022-8-15)
There is a need to develop a methodology for cost-effectively assessing and monitoring the quality of surface waters, and controlling micropollutant discharges from point sources in a river basin. This study aims to develop a monitoring and control strategy by prioritizing micropollutants according to their potential hazard and exposure levels in the Yeşilırmak River Basin (YRB). The temporal and spatial variation in the occurrence of 295 micropollutants was assessed by adopting a statistical screening app...
A Framework for Web-based Education Systems Supporting Interdisciplinary Design Collaboration
Karakaya, Ahmet Fatih ; Taşlı Pektaş, Şule (Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Architecture, 2007-6-01)
Web-based educational systems are promising applications to enhance design education. Although the advantages of such systems have been discussed in the literature extensively, few studies in the field have used them for teaching interdisciplinary design collaboration. In order to alleviate this problem, a web-based interdisciplinary building design studio was designed and implemented. Considering the lack of systematic approaches in the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in studios, th...
A STUDY ON SOURCES AND CONSEQUENCE OF SCIENCE TEACHERS’ SELF-EFFICACY
Pehlivan, Merve; Sungur, Semra; Sungur, Semra; Department of Secondary Science and Mathematics Education (2022-2-11)
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between sources and the consequence of science teachers’ self-efficacy. Science teachers’ self-efficacy was measured in terms of self-efficacy for student engagement, classroom management, and instructional strategies. As sources of self-efficacy Bandura’s hypothesized sources (i.e. mastery experience, vicarious experience, verbal persuasion, and physiological and emotional states), years of experience, implicit beliefs of science ability, and jo...
A design-based research on shared metacognition through the community of inquiry framework in online collaborative learning environments
Ataş, Amine Hatun; Yıldırım, Zahide; Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology (2021-2-02)
This study advances the emerging research on shared metacognition through the lens of the Community of Inquiry Framework. It seeks components and utterances of the community of inquiry and shared metacognition in online collaborative learning environments to bring to the fore an instructional design model and instructional design principles. A three-cycle Design-Based Research method was followed in two cases of university students (associate degree and graduate degree) by triangulating quantitative and qua...
A cots-software requirements elicitation method from business process models
Aslan, Ercan; Demirörs, Onur; Department of Information Systems (2002)
In this thesis, COTS-software requirements elicitation, which is an input for RFP in software intensive automation system̕s acquisition, is examined. Business Process Models are used for COTS-software requirements elicitation. A new method, namely CREB, is developed to meet the requirements of COTS-software. A software intensive system acquisition of a military organization is used to validate the method.
