Two new quinoxaline and ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) based polymers: poly(5,8-bis(2,3-dihydrothieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxin-5-yl)-2-(phenyll)-3-ferrocenylquinoxaline) (P1) and poly(5,8-bis(2,3-dihydrothieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxin-5-yl)-2,3-di(naphthalen-2-yl) quinoxaline) (P2) were synthesized and characterized in terms of their electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical properties. The polymers were both p and n-type dopable. The polymers can be switched between green and transparent states during p-doping/dedoping. They were compared with their previously reported analogues in order to investigate ferrocene pendant group effect on electrochromic characteristics.

Synthesis and mesophase properties of block and random co-polymers of electroactive and liquid crystalline monomers
Yilmaz, F; Kasapoglu, F; Hepuzer, Y; Yagci, Y; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Fernandes, EG; Galli, G (Informa UK Limited, 2005-01-01)
Homo-polymers and random co-polymers of electroactive and liquid crystalline monomers, namely 3-thienylmethyl methacrylate (MTM) and 6-(4-cyanobiphenyl-4'-oxy)hexyl acrylate (LC6), were prepared by conventional free radical polymerization. Block co-polymers of MTM and LC6 were also synthesized by using the 1,1-diphenylethene (DPE) method. The obtained random and block co-polymers exhibited liquid crystal behavior depending on the content of the LC6 units. It was found that microphase separation of the polym...
Long Wavelength Photosensitizers for Diaryliodonium Salts Based on the 2-Benzyl-2H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazole Skeleton
Bulut, Umut; Yilmaz, Seda; Yigitsoy, Basak; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Informa UK Limited, 2012-01-01)
Two benzotriazole derivatives, 2-benzyl-4,7-di(thiophen-2-yl)-2H-benzo[d][1,2,3] triazole (BBTS) and 2-benzyl-4,7-bis(2,3-dihydrothieno[3,4-b][1,4] dioxin-5-yl)-2H-benzo[d] [1,2,3] triazole (BBTES) were employed as photosensitizers for diaryliodonium salt photoinitiators in photoinitiated cationic polymerization of various epoxide and vinyl ether monomers. Diphenyliodonium hexafluorophosphate (Ph2I+PF6-) salt was used as the photoinitiator in this study. Extended conjugation and electron-rich moieties of th...
Conducting polymer composites of polypyrrole and a poly(arylene ether ketone)
Selampinar, F; Akbulut, Ural; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Informa UK Limited, 1998-01-01)
Electrically conducting composites of polypyrrole and a poly(arylene ether ketone) were synthesized by electroinitiated polymerization of pyrrole on a poly(arylene ether ketone)-coated platinum electrode. The electrolysis medium was water and p-toluene sulfonic acid. The conductivities of the composites were in the range 1-10 S/cm. The composites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared, and thermal analyses. The composites were found to be composed of bilayers which ca...
Time Weighted Average Concentration Monitoring Based on Thin Film Solid Phase Microextraction
Ahmadi, Fardin; Sparham, Chris; Boyacı, Ezel; Pawliszyn, Janusz (American Chemical Society (ACS), 2017-04-04)
Time weighted average (TWA) passive sampling with thin film solid: phase micro extraction (TF-SPME) and liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was used for collection, identification, and quantification of benzophenone-1, benzophenone-2, benzophenone-3, benzophenone-4, 2-phenylbenzimidazole-5-sulfonic acid, octocrylene, octylmethoxycinnamate, butylmethoxydibenzgylmethane, triclocarban and triclosan in the aquatic environment. Two types of TF-SPME passive samplers, including a retracted th...
Microwave-assisted simultaneous synthesis of conducting, non-conducting and cross-linked polymers from sodium 2,4,6-tribromophenolate and LiOH
Celik, Gueler Bayrakli; Kisakuerek, Duygu (Informa UK Limited, 2007-01-01)
Poly(dibromophenylene oxide) (P) and conducting polymer (CP) and/or cross-linked polymer (CLP) were synthesized simultaneously from sodium 2,4,6-tribromophenol ate and LiOH by microwave energy in a very short time interval. Polymerizations were carried out (i) under constant microwave energy and constant amount of water with different time intervals ranging from I to 20 min, or (ii) at constant time intervals and constant amount of water with variation of microwave energy ranging from 90 to 900 W, or (iii) ...
