Photoluminescence spectra of nitrogen implanted GaSe crystals
KARABULUT, MUHAMMET ALİ; Bilir, G.; Mamedov, G. M.; Seyhan, A.; Turan, Raşit (Elsevier BV, 2008-10-01)
GaSe single crystals were N-implanted along c-axis with ion beams of 10(14) and 10(16) ions/cm(2) doses having energy values of 60 and 100 keV. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra of undoped and N-implanted GaSe crystals were measured at different temperatures. The PL intensity was observed to decrease with increasing implantation dose while the FWHM of the exciton peaks increased. In heavily doped crystals, due to the interaction with the radiation induced disorders, the wave vector selection rules are sati...
Photoelectrochemical cell using dye sensitized zinc oxide nanowires grown on carbon fibers

Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanowires (NWs) grown on carbon fibers using a vapor transport and condensation approach are used as the cathode of a photoelectrochemical cell. The carbon fibers were obtained by electrospray deposition and take the form of a flexible carbon fabric. The ZnO NW on carbon fiber anode is combined with a "black dye" photoabsorber, an electrolyte, and a platinum (Pt) counterelectrode to complete the cell. The results show that ZnO NW and carbon fibers can be used for photoinduced charge separat...
Photoelectrochemical Biosensing Approach for Alcohol Determination by "Wiring" of Alcohol Oxidase Photonically with P(SNS-NH2)/AOx/CNT/[Ru(bpy)(3)](2+) Modified Electrodes
Yildiz, H. B.; KAMACI, MUSA; KARAMAN, MUSTAFA; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Sayin, Serkan (Informa UK Limited, 2014-05-04)
A photoelectrochemical alcohol biosensor was designed through photonic wiring of alcohol oxidase (AOx) onto conducting polymer of 4-(2,5-di(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrrol-1-yl)benzenamine (SNS-NH2) and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) modified gold slides. The photoelectrochemical biosensors utilize a photonically wired electrode that oxidizes primary alcohols to aldehydes. Three different alcohols namely methanol, ethanol, and n-propanol were used as the substrates. In the presence of different concentrations of primary ...
Photoluminescence study of ge-implanted gase and inse single crystals grown by bridgman method
Bilgi, Seda; Akınoğlu, Bülent Gültekin; Department of Physics (2006)
In this study, photoluminescence properties of as grown, Ge implanted GaSe and InSe crystals with doses 1013, 1014, and 1015 ions/cm2 and 1015 ions/cm2 Ge implanted and annealed GaSe and InSe single crystals grown by using 3-zone vertical Bridgman-Stockbarger system have been studied by photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL). PL spectra of as grown and implanted GaSe samples with three different doses have been studied in the ranges within the wavelength interval 570-850 nm and in the temperature ranges betwee...
PHOTORESPONSE OF BACTERIORHODOPSIN IMMOBILIZED IN POLYACRYLAMIDE-GEL MEMBRANES
EROGLU, I; AYDEMIR, A; TURKER, L; Yücel, Ayşe Meral (1994-01-27)
A two-chambered cell has been designed and constructed for the measurement of photoresponses of bacteriorhodopsin immobilized in polyacrylamide gel (FAG) membranes. The photoresponse of bacteriorhodopsin was determined by measuring the pH variation in each chamber independently, for long periods of illumination. The aim was to verify the light driven proton transfer of bacteriorhodopsin immobilized in FAG membranes. However, the same pH variation was observed in the two chambers irrespective of whether orie...
