In the built environment, 'Low and Zero Carbon' (LZC) energy sources can significantly reduce the carbon emissions which cause atmospheric pollution by at least 10-20%. In this study, located in the United Kingdom, LZC technologies were applied to a former train station being redeveloped into a mixed-use scheme in central London. An assessment of the energy savings and predicted CO2 emissions produced by building was then made.
