Dasumia gasparoi sp. n. is described based on specimens of both sexes. The new species is compared with the similar D. crassipalpis (Simon, 1882), described from Syria; and with D. mariandyna Brignoli, 1979, the only previously known species of the genus recorded from Turkey. Furthermore, we point out that, due to some contradictions to the original description of the genus, D. mariandyna may necessarily belong to another genus. Detailed morphological descriptions, diagnosis and figures of the copulatory organs of the new species are presented.

A new species of Marrubium L. ()Lamiaceae) from Turkey
Akgül, Gençay; Ketenoğlu, Osman; Doğan, Musa (2017-12-01)
Marrubium sivasense Aytaç, Akgül & Ekici sp. nova (Lamiaceae) is described and illustrated from Central Anatolia, Turkey. The new species most resembles Marrubium depauperatum, but it differs by 3-10 flowered verticillasters, crenate to crenulated leaf margins, and unequal calyx teeth. The ecology and phenology of the new species as well as its etymology, conservation status, and diagnostic features are discussed.
Rediscovery of Dichoropetalum aureum (Umbelliferae) in South Anatolia (Turkey)
ADIGÜZEL, NEZAKET; BANİ, BARIŞ; Mavi, Ozlem (2011-02-07)
Dichoropetalum aureum (BOISS. & BALANSA) PIMENOV & KLJUYKOV was collected from Turkey for the first time in 1856 and described in 1859. Although the species was collected from Lebanon and Israel, it has not been recorded from Turkey since 1856. This study comprises the recollection of Dichoropetalum aureum from the type locality and neighbouring areas after 150 years and also an expanded morphological description. Ecological parameters such as soil and climatic features are given in addition to information ...
A new species of Acantholimon Boiss. (Plumbaginaceae) from Ankara, Turkey
Doğan, Musa (Oxford University Press (OUP), 2002-12-01)
Acantholimon anatolicum Dogan & Akaydin sp. nov. (Plumbaginaceae) is described and illustrated. The species grows on deep gypsum-rich sandy soil on eroded mountain slopes between Cayirhan and Nallihan in Ankara. Diagnostic morphological characters that discern it from closely related species are discussed and its conservation status is indicated. A revised key to Acantholimon species with dense terminal spikes and excurrent scapes is given for the species found in Turkey. (C) The Linnean Society of London.
An investigation of bacterial and fungal xylanolytic systems
Yaşınok, Ayşegül Ersayın; Bakır, Ufuk; Department of Biotechnology (2006)
Endo-b-1,4 xylanases (EC. 3.2.1.8) are typically produced as a mixture of different hydrolytic enzymes such as b-1,4-xylosidase (EC. 3.2.1.37) , a-Larabinofuranosidases (EC. 3.2.1.55), and feruloyl esterase (EC 3.1.1.73) that hydrolyze xylan molecule, which constitutes 20-30% of the weight of wood and agricultural wastes. Thus, xylan, a renewable biomass, can be utilized as a substrate for the preparation of many products such as fuels, solvents and pharmaceuticals. Besides, xylanolytic enzymes themselves a...
A new species of Harpactea Bristowe, 1939 from Turkey (Araneae: Dysderidae)
Özkütük, Recep Sulhi; Elverici, Mert; Marusik, Yuri M.; Kunt, Kadir Boğaç (Pensoft Publishers, 2015-9-7)
A new species of Harpactea Bristowe, 1939, H. alanyana sp. n. is described from southern Turkey. The new species appears closely related to H. osellai Brignoli, 1978. Detailed description and illustrations of the new and related species are provided. The relationships of the two species are discussed.
