Effect of differential lubrication on the cup drawing of mild steel blanks

1990-7
Atala, H.
Cup-drawing test have been performed on mild steel blanks to study the frictional behaviour of the flanges in a cup-drawing operation, by utilizing differential lubrication. Molybdenum disulphide paste has been chosen as the lubricant because of its good performance in preliminary trials. The results suggest that lubrication of the flange is essential in the achievement of a fully drawn cup without failure and without wrinkles. It can also be stated that lubricant application to central regions appears to be irrelevant in the process.

Effect of variable friction coefficient on sheet metal drawing
Darendeliler, Haluk; Yucesoy, CA (Elsevier BV, 2002-02-01)
A variable friction model that relates the parameters of sheet metal drawing to the local lubrication conditions taking place during the deformation, has been integrated to a finite element program. Variable friction coefficients for the contacting surfaces are determined from the friction model, which uses the related parameters obtained at each time step of the finite element program as inputs. A number of numerical runs have been performed and the strains are compared with the experimental results for ci...
Effects of Different Denture Cleansers on the Tensile Bond Strength of Denture Liners
DEMİR, HAKAN; SOYGUN, KORAY; Bolayir, Giray; DOĞAN, ARİFE; Keskin, Selda; DOĞAN, ORHAN MURAT (Informa UK Limited, 2009-01-01)
The effect of two denture cleansers (Polident (R) and Protefix (R)) on the tensile bond strength between four soft liner materials (Molloplast B (R), Permaflex (R), Sofreliner Tough Medium (R), and GC Reline Soft (R)) and a conventional denture base resin was investigated. For each of the liner materials 35 test specimens were prepared according to test the requirements and assigned into seven groups (n=5). Before tensile testing, five of the liner specimens were kept in water or soaked in two cleansing sol...
Effect of heat treatment on the stress and structure evolution of plasma deposited boron nitride thin films
Anutgan, T. Aliyeva; Anutgan, M.; Wdemir, O.; Atilgan, I.; Katircioglu, B. (Elsevier BV, 2008-03-25)
Boron nitride (BN) thin films are deposited at 573 K by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) with ammonia (NH3) and hydrogen diluted diborane (15% B2H6 in H-2) source gases. UV-visible and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopies together with surface profilometry are used for the film characterization. These films are hydrogenated (BN:H) whose hydrogen content is pursued following the 1.5 h annealing process at 748 K, 923 K and 1073 K under nitrogen atmosphere. Hydrogen escape with the...
Modification of glassy carbon electrode by the electrochemical oxidation of 3-aminophenylcalix[4]pyrrole in nonaqueous media
TANER, BİLGE; DEVECİ, PERVİN; ÜSTÜNDAĞ, ZAFER; Keskin, Selda; ÖZCAN, EMİNE; SOLAK, ALİ OSMAN (Wiley, 2012-02-01)
3-Aminophenylcalix[4]pyrrole (3APCP) was grafted to a glassy carbon (GC) surface during the electrochemical oxidation process in 0.1 M tetrabutylammoniumtetra-fluoroborate (TBATFB) containing acetonitrile solution. The presence of a surface film was confirmed electrochemically by comparing voltammograms of dopamine and ferricyanide redox probes at the bare and modified electrodes. Reflection-absorption infrared spectroscopy (RAIRS), XPS, atomic force microscopy (AFM), ellipsometry and the contact angle meas...
Effect of Sm on thermal and mechanical properties of Cu-Zr-Al bulk metallic glasses
Sikan, Fatih; Atabay, S. E.; Motallebzadeh, A.; Özerinç, Sezer; Kalay, I.; Kalay, Yunus Eren (Elsevier BV, 2019-01-16)
The effect of rare-earth (Sm) microalloying on the thermal stability and phase selection along with the effect of nanocrystallization on the mechanical properties of amorphous melt-spun ribbons of Zr50Cu40Al10, Zr49Cu39.2Al9.8Sm2 and Zr48Cu38.4Al9.6Sm4 alloys were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Vickers and nanoindentation hardness tests and micropillar compression analysis. XRD and TEM analyses showed that all samp...
