The Raman spectrum of ammonium chloride has been carefully studied in the vicinity of its Λ-transition. Spectra were recorded as a function of temperature under various fixed pressures close to 1.6 kbar, which is the pressure required to make the Λ-transition become second order. The critical exponents derivable from the spectroscopic data seem to be as reliable as those from other types of data, even in the multicritical region.

Conducting polymers of octanoic acid 2-thiophen-3-yl-ethyl ester and their electrochromic properties
CAMURLU, P; Çırpan, Ali; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2005-08-15)
Octanoic acid 2-thiophen-3-yl-ethyl ester was synthesized via the reaction of 3-thiophene ethanol with octanoyl chloride. The resulting monomer was electrochemically homopolymerized in the presence of tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate as the supporting electrolyte, in the acetonitrile/borontrifluoride ethyl ether solvent system. The resulting polymer was characterized using various experimental techniques. Spectroelectrochemistry analysis of the homopolymer reflects electronic transitions at 434, approxi...
RAMAN STUDY OF BENZENE NEAR THE MELTING POINT
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2013-06-10)
We calculate here the Raman frequencies of some lattice modes as a function of pressure at constant temperatures for the solid and liquid phases of benzene. The observed data for the molar volume from literature is used to calculate the Raman frequencies through the mode Gruneisen parameter in benzene.
Optoelectronic properties of Tl3InSe4 single crystals
QASRAWI, ATEF FAYEZ HASAN; Hasanlı, Nızamı (Informa UK Limited, 2010-01-01)
The crystal structure, temperature-dependent electrical conductivity, Hall coefficient, current-voltage characteristics, absorption spectra and temperature- and illumination-dependent photoconductivity of Tl3InSe4 single crystals were investigated. Tl3InSe4 crystallises in a body-centred lattice with tetragonal symmetry and belongs to the space group [image omitted]. The crystals are extrinsic p-type semiconductors and exhibit a conductivity conversion from p- to n-type at a critical temperature, Tc, of 283...
Light illumination effect on the electrical and photovoltaic properties of In6S7 crystals
Qasrawi, AF; Hasanlı, Nızamı (IOP Publishing, 2006-05-17)
The electrical and photoelectrical properties of In6S7 crystals have been investigated in the temperature regions of 170-300 K and 150-300 K, respectively. The dark electrical analysis revealed the intrinsic type of conduction. The energy band gap obtained from the temperature-dependent dark current is found to be 0.75 eV. It is observed that the photocurrent increases in the temperature range of 150 K up to T-m = 230 K and decreases at T > T-m. Two photoconductivity activation energies of 0.21 and 0.10 eV ...
Microstructural properties and local atomic structures of cobalt oxide nanoparticles synthesised by mechanical ball-milling process
AKSOY, FUNDA; AKGÜL, GÜVENÇ; Kurban, Mustafa (Informa UK Limited, 2016-01-01)
In this study, facile preparation of pure and nano-sized cobalt oxides particles was achieved using low-cost mechanical ball-milling synthesis route. Microstructural and morphological properties of synthesised products were characterised by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques. XRD results indicated that the fabricated samples composed of cubic pure phase CoO and Co3O4 nanocrystalline particles with an average crystallite size of 37.2 and 31.8nm, respectively. TEM im...
