Schedulability Analysis and Message Schedule Computation for the Dynamic Segment of FlexRay

Schmidt, Şenan Ece
In this paper, we perform the schedulability analysis and schedule computation for sporadic real-time messages in the dynamic segment of the FlexRay protocol. We first formulate a linear integer programming problem that allows to determine if a given message schedule is feasible, i.e., the worst-case delay of each message is smaller than its deadline. Then, we develop a heuristic algorithm that enables the efficient computation of feasible schedules. Our results are illustrated by an experimental setup with three FlexRay nodes.

Dissimilarity maximization method for real-time routing of parts in random flexible manufacturing systems
Saygin, C; Kilic, SE (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2004-04-01)
This paper presents a dissimilarity maximization method (DMM) for real-time routing selection and compares it via simulation with typical priority rules commonly used in scheduling and control of flexible manufacturing systems (FMSs). DMM aims to reduce the congestion in the system by selecting a routing for each part among its alternative routings such that the overall dissimilarity among the selected routings is maximized. In order to evaluate the performance of DMM, a random FMS, where the product mix is...
Optimal Message Scheduling for the Static Segment of FlexRay
Schmidt, Klaus Verner; Schmidt, Şenan Ece (2010-10-04)
In this paper, we study the scheduling of periodic messages in the static segment of the FlexRay protocol. Our approach is based on two performance metrics. Similar to previous work, we seek to allocate a minimum number of frame IDs (FIDs) in the static segment. In addition, different from existing work, we want to minimize the message jitter, i.e., the deviation of the message transmission from the required periodicity. To this end, we first derive analytical expressions that quantify the FID allocation an...
Experimental Analysis and FPGA Implementation of the Real Valued Time Delay Neural Network Based Digital Predistortion
Yesil, Soner; Sen, Cansu; Yılmaz, Ali Özgür (2019-01-01)
This paper presents an FPGA implementation of the Real Valued Time Delay Neural Network (RVTDNN) based digital predistortion with a very low resource utilization and high throughput. The implementation exploits efficient utilization of FPGA primitives and approximation of activation functions that can be realized with simple logic operations. The proposed modifications and constraints on the algorithms have been decided and verified based on a closed-loop adaptive hardware setup including RFHIC RWP03040-1H ...
Total outage capacity of randomly-spread coded-CDMA with linear multiuser receivers over multipath fading channels
Ertug, O; Sayrac, B; Baykal, Buyurman; Yucel, MD (2003-07-03)
We address in this paper the derivation and analysis of the outage spectral efficiencies achievable with linear multiuser receivers over randomly-spread multipath fading time-varying coded-CDMA channels. The basis of the derivations is the use of non-asymptotic average eigenvalue densities of random cross-correlation matrices. The analysis give important clues on the achievable capacity with linear multiuser receivers under non-ergodic transmission situations.
Multimodal video database modeling, querying and browsing
Durak, N; Yazıcı, Adnan (2005-01-01)
In this paper, a multimodal video indexing and retrieval system, MMVIRS, is presented. MMVIRS models the auditory, visual, and textual sources of video collections from a semantic perspective. Besides multimodality, our model is constituted on semantic hierarchies that enable us to access the video from different semantic levels. MMVIRS has been implemented with data annotation, querying and browsing parts. In the annotation part, metadata information and video semantics are extracted in hierarchical ways. ...
