Nonlinear oscillation of second-order dynamic equations on time scales
Anderson, Douglas R.; Zafer, Ağacık (Elsevier BV, 2009-10-01)
Interval oscillation criteria are established for a second-order nonlinear dynamic equation on time scales by utilizing a generalized Riccati technique and the Young inequality. The theory can be applied to second-order dynamic equations regardless of the choice of delta or nabla derivatives.
Nonlinear correlations in phase-space resolved fluctuations at drift wave frequencies
Skiff, F.; Uzun Kaymak, İlker Ümit; Diallo, A. (IOP Publishing, 2007-12-01)
In an effort to better understand plasma transport, we measure fluctuations associated with drift instabilities resolved in the ion phase-space. Primary attention is given to fluctuations near the electron drift frequency where there are two general components to the observed fluctuations. From two (spatial) point measurements of the ion distribution function with a variable separation along the magnetic field, a number of statistical measures of the fluctuations are calculated including cross-correlation a...
