A 3D-2D watermarking method using perspective projective invariance is proposed. Data is embedded in relative positions of six points on a 3D mesh by translating one of them, and extracted from any 2D view generated as long as the points remain visible. To evaluate the performance of the perspective invariant, a watermarking system with a very simple interest point detection method is implemented. Simulations are made on six 3D meshes with different watermark strengths and view angles. Very promising results show that the used perspective invariant is suitable for 3D-2D watermarking, opening a completely new area of research.

E3D-D2D: EMBEDDING IN 3D, DETECTION IN 2D THROUGH PROJECTIVE INVARIANTS
Yasaroglu, Yagiz; Alatan, Abdullah Aydın (2014-10-30)
A novel watermarking method is presented in which the data embedded into a 3D model is extracted from an arbitrary 2D view by using a perspective projective invariant. The data is embedded into 3D positions of selected interest points on a 3D mesh. Determining the interest point modification vectors for ensuring watermark detection constitutes an important part of the proposed method. Different watermark embedding schemes based on optimization of the watermark function are implemented and evaluated. Another...
A new representation for the properties of anisotropic elastic fiber reinforced composite materials
Gaith, MS; Akgoz, CY (2005-09-01)
A new procedure based on constructing orthonormal tensor basis using the form-invariant expressions which can easily be extended to any tensor of rank n. A new decomposition, which is not in literature, of the stress tensor is presented. An innovational general form and more explicit physical property of the symmetric fourth rank elastic tensors is presented. A new method to measure the stiffness and piezoelectricity in the elastic fiber reinforced composite and piezoelectric ceramics materials using the no...
Making linear prediction perform like maximum likelihood in Gaussian autoregressive model parameter estimation
Candan, Çağatay (Elsevier BV, 2020-01-01)
A two-stage method for the parameter estimation of Gaussian autoregressive models is proposed. The proposed first stage is an improved version of the conventional forward-backward prediction method and can be interpreted as its weighted version with the weights derived from the arithmetic mean of the log-likelihood functions for different conditioning cases. The weighted version is observed to perform better than the conventional forward-backward prediction method and other linear prediction based methods (...
Using object-oriented materialized views to answer selection-based complex queries
Alhajj, R; Polat, Faruk (1999-09-01)
Presented in this paper is a model that utilizes existing materialized views to handle a wide range of complex selection-based queries, including linear recursive queries. Such queries are complex because it is almost impossible for naive users to predict the formulation of their predicate expressions. Object variables bound to objects in the result of a query are allowed to appear in the predicate of that query. Also, the predicate definition is extended to make it possible to have in the output only a sub...
ACOUSTIC SOURCE SEPARATION USING THE SHORT-TIME QUATERNION FOURIER TRANSFORMS OF PARTICLE VELOCITY SIGNALS
Hacıhabiboğlu, Hüseyin (2016-03-25)
Quaternion Fourier transforms (QFT) provide a powerful tool for the analysis of signals obtained from vector probes. Acoustic particle velocity is one such signal which can be measured with specially designed microphone arrays. This paper presents a time-frequency source separation method based on the short-time quaternion Fourier transform of acoustic particle velocity signals and the k-plane clustering of the vector part of the resulting representation. Two example cases, one with a single and one with tw...
