Microstrip patch antenna on magnetized cylindrical ferrite substrate

Resonant frequencies of microstrip patch antenna on cylindrical magnetized ferrite substrate are evaluated by using cavity approach for thin substrates, Effects of anistropy of ferrite on resonant frequencies are examined. Resonant frequencies of this antenna can be tuned by externally applied magnetic field.

Microstrip patch antenna array with cosecant-squared radiation pattern profile
Kaboutari, K.; Zabihi, A.; Virdee, B.; Salmasi, Mostafa Pilevari (Elsevier BV, 2019-01-01)
In this paper, the radiation pattern on either side of the main beam, which is created by a standard microstrip patch antenna, is configured to correspond to a cosecant-squared curve. The 8 x 2 antenna array comprises eight pairs of radiating elements that are arranged in a symmetrical structure and excited through a single common feedline. Interaction of the fields generated by each pair of elements contributes towards the overall radiation characteristics. The proposed array is shown to exhibit an impedan...
High Performance Harmonic Isolation By Means of The Single-phase Series Active Filter Employing The Waveform Reconstruction Method
Senturk, Osman S.; Hava, Ahmet Masum (2009-09-24)
This paper proposes the Waveform Reconstruction Method (WRM), which is utilized in the single-phase Series Active Filter's (SAF's) control algorithm, in order to extract the load harmonic voltage component of voltage harmonic type single-phase diode rectifier loads. Employing WRM and the line current sampling delay reduction method (SDRM), a single-phase SAF compensated system provides higher harmonic isolation performance and higher stability margins compared to the system using conventional synchronous re...
Microstructure development in nickel zinc ferrites
Okatan, Mahmut Barış; Timuçin, Muharrem; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2005)
Nickel zinc ferrites (NZF) have been considered as one of the basic components in high frequency electromagnetic applications especially in the field of telecommunications. In the present study, the aim was to produce high quality nickel zinc ferrite ceramics at low soaking temperatures. For this purpose, conventional ceramic manufacturing method based on mixed oxide precursors was followed using calcium fluoride, CaF2, as sintering additive. During the sintering studies, it was noticed that both the micros...
A Novel Input Impedance Computation Method for Coaxial Probe Fed Microstrip Antennas by Utilizing Characteristic Modes
Cetin, Metehan; Alatan, Lale (2017-07-14)
A method to efficiently compute the input impedance of the coaxial probe fed microstrip antennas by using characteristic modes is proposed in this paper. The efficiency is achieved by defining a discontinuous source current at the feed location that models the current injected by the probe. The input impedance is simply expressed in terms of modal excitation coefficients and eigenvalues of each mode.
Ultrahigh-Dynamic-Range Resonant MEMS Load Cells for Micromechanical Test Frames
Azgın, Kıvanç; Akın, Tayfun (2012-12-01)
This paper presents a resonant double-ended tuning fork (DETF) force sensor with an experimentally demonstrated resolution of 7 nN and a compressive load range of 0.08 N, exceeding a dynamic range of 140 dB (100 parts per billion). The resonator has a scale factor of 216 kHz/N, a Q-factor exceeding 60 000 at 3-mtorr ambient pressure, and a zero-load resonant frequency of 47.6 kHz. The resonator is kept at resonance via a phase-locked loop composed of discrete elements. The sensor is implemented with a silic...
