A model-independent analysis for the exclusive, rare B-->K*l(+)l(-) decay is presented. Systematically studied are the experimentally measured quantities, such as the branching ratio, forward-backward asymmetry, longitudinal polarization of the final leptons, and the ratio Gamma(L)/Gamma(T) of the decay widths when the K* meson is longitudinally and transversally polarized. The dependence of the asymmetry parameter alpha = 2 Gamma(L)/Gamma(T)- l on the new Wilson coefficients is also studied in detail. It is found that the aforementioned physical observables are quite sensitive to the new Wilson coefficients. Therefore, once we have the experimental data with high statistics and a deviation from the standard model, we can interpret the source of such a discrepancy.

Exclusive semileptonic B ->pi(+)pi(-)l(+)l(-) decay beyond the standard model
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (American Physical Society (APS), 2000-12-01)
A systematic analysis for the exclusive rare B --> pi (+)pi (-)l(+)l(-) decay beyond the standard model is presented. The dependence of the various physically measurable asymmetries and CP violating asymmetry on the new Wilson coefficients is studied in detail. It is observed that different measurable quantiles are very sensitive to the different new Wilson coefficients, i.e., to the existence of new physics beyond the standard model.
General analysis of the rare B-c -> D-s*l(+)l(-) decay beyond the standard model
Yilmaz, U. O.; Turan, Gürsevil (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2007-06-01)
The general analysis of the rare B-c -> D-s* l(+) l(-) decay is presented by using the most general, model independent effective Hamiltonian. The dependencies of the branching ratios and of the longitudinal, normal and transversal polarization asymmetries for l(-) and the combined asymmetries for l(-) and l(+) on the new Wilson coefficients are investigated. Our analysis shows that the lepton polarization asymmetries are very sensitive to the scalar and tensor type interactions, which will be very useful in...
Measurement of the Lambda(b) polarization and angular parameters in Lambda(b) -> J/psi Lambda decays from pp collisions at root s=7 and 8 TeV
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (American Physical Society (APS), 2018-04-01)
An analysis of the bottom baryon decay Lambda(b) -> J/psi(-> mu(+)mu(-))Lambda( -> p pi(-)) is performed to measure the Lambda(b) polarization and three angular parameters in data from pp collisions at root s = 7 and 8 TeV, collected by the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. The Lambda(b) polarization is measured to be 0.00 +/- 0.06(stat) +/- 0.06(syst) and the parity-violating asymmetry parameter is determined to be 0.14 +/- 0.14(stat) +/- 0.10(syst). The measurements are compared to various theo...
Measurement of the W+W- cross section in pp collisions at and limits on anomalous WW gamma and WWZ couplings
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2013-10-01)
A measurement of W+W- production in pp collisions at is presented. The data were collected with the CMS detector at the LHC, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 4.92 +/- 0.11 fb(-1). The W+W- candidates consist of two oppositely charged leptons, electrons or muons, accompanied by large missing transverse energy. The W+W- production cross section is measured to be 52.4 +/- 2.0 (stat.)+/- 4.5 (syst.)+/- 1.2 (lum.) pb. This measurement is consistent with the standard model prediction of 47.0 +/- 2.0 ...
Semileptonic B ->eta iota nu decay in light cone QCD
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Özpineci, Altuğ (American Physical Society (APS), 2003-05-01)
We study the semileptonic decay B --> eta/nu. The transition form factors for this decay are calculated by using light cone QCD sum rules. The branching ratio is estimated to be B(B --> etanu) = (1.6 +/- 0.8) x 10(-5).
