This document, describes a universal multimedia access system and its implementation details. In the context of this document, universal multimedia access means accessing multimedia content over ubiquitous computer networks, using different computing platforms. The computer networks involve both wired and wireless networks, and computing platforms involve wired PC's, mobile PC's and personal digital assistants (PDA). The system is built on client/server architecture. Video data is H.263 coded and carried over RTP. Java Media Framework is utilized and its capabilities are extended with special plug-ins when necessary.

Implementation of a wireless streaming system for universal multimedia access
Ünal, Halim Ünsem; Akar, Gözde; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2003)

ACCLOUD-MAN - Power efficient resource allocation for heterogeneous clouds ACCLOUD-MAN - Heterojen bulutlarda güç etkin kaynak atamasi
Ekici, Nazim Umut; Schmidt, Klaus Werner; Yazar, Alper; Schmidt, Şenan Ece (2019-04-01)
In this paper we propose ACCLOUD-MAN, a novel resource manager for heterogeneous cloud data centers. In heterogeneous clouds a user request can be satisfied with more than one physical resource alternative. Resource manager must decide which resource alternative will be chosen, along with the decision of the server the request will be assigned to. ACCLOUD-MAN's resource management objective is to reduce the power consumption of the cloud. Manager is modeled as an Integer Linear Problem and is implemented on...
MULTI-GROUP MULTICAST BEAMFORMING FOR SIMULTANEOUS WIRELESS INFORMATION AND POWER TRANSFER
Demir, Özlem Tuğfe; Tuncer, Temel Engin (2015-09-04)
In this paper, simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) concept is introduced for multi group multicast beamforming. Each user has a single antenna and a power splitter which divides the radio frequency (RF) signal into two for both information decoding and energy harvesting. The aim is to minimize the total transmission power at the base station while satisfying both signal-to-interference-plus- noise-ratio (SINR) and harvested power constraints at each user. Unlike unicast and certain ...
SIMULATION CONCEPTS FOR INFORMATION-SYSTEM
MOURANT, RR; Tarı, Zehra Sibel (Elsevier BV, 1993-09-01)
Recent Improvements in document image systems and their low-cost implementation on networks of microcomputers is leading to the reengineering of many information systems. We describe how document image systems can be applied to information systems. In order to compare the performance of a conventional information system with one implemented with document imaging processing capability we conducted a discrete event simulation. We modeled the conventional information system for processing graduate student ...
Intelligent student assessment and coaching interface to web-based education-oriented intelligent experimentation on robot supported laboratory set-ups
Motuk, Halil Erdem; Erkmen, Aydan Müşerref; Erkmen, İsmet; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2003)
This thesis presents a framework for an intelligent interface for the access of robotsupported remote laboratories through the Internet. The framework is composed of the student assessment and coaching system, the experimentation scenario, and the associated graphical user interface. Student assessment and coaching system is the main feature of a successful intelligent interface for use during remote experimentation with a robot-supported laboratory setup. The system has a modular structure employing artifi...
