Thermal degradation characteristics of polysulfones with benzoxazine end groups
Orhan, Tugba; Ates, Sahin; Hacaloğlu, Jale; Yagci, Yusuf (2012-01-01)
Thermal degradation behaviors of phenol and benzoxazine end-capped polysulfone macromonomers (PSU-OH and PSU-P-a) and pre-cured PSU-P-a in the absence and presence of aniline and phenol based benzoxazine monomer (P-a) were investigated via pyrolysis mass spectrometry. A significant increase in thermal stability of both polysulfone and polybenzoxazine chains upon polymerization of benzoxazine end groups was determined compared to phenol-ended polysulfones and aniline based monofunctional polybenzoxazine. The...

Using Active Learning to Allow Activity Recognition on a Large Scale
Alemdar, Hande; ERSOY, CEM (2011-11-18)
Automated activity recognition systems that use probabilistic models require labeled data sets in training phase for learning the model parameters. The parameters are different for every person and every environment. Therefore, for every person or environment, training is needed to be performed from scratch. Obtaining labeled data requires much effort therefore poses challenges on the large scale deployment of activity recognition systems. Active learning can be a solution to this problem. It is a machine l...

Development of Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers in 150 F-6-inbred durum wheat (Triticum durum) lines derived from Kunduru-1149 x Cham-1 cross
Göçmen, Birşen; Kaya, Zeki (2003-01-01)
Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers were developed in a specific durum wheat population (150 lines) derived from Kunduru-1149 x Chain-1 cross. Of 284 RAPD primers screened against parent DNAs, 83 revealed at least one polymorphic locus. The most polymorphic and clear bands producing 13 primers were selected and screened with the DNAs of 150 lines. These 13 primers revealed a total number of 33 segregating loci. The preliminary results of this study could be used as a base for mapping economicall...
