Electrochemical polymerization of para-substituted haloanilines
Cihaner, A; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar (Informa UK Limited, 2006-01-01)
Polyhaloanilines: poly(4-fluoroaniline) (P4FAN), poly(4-chloroaniline) (P4CAN), and poly(4-bromoaniline) (P4BAN), are synthesized from para-substituted haloaniline monomers; 4-fluoroaniline (4FAN), 4-chloroaniline (4CAN), and 4-bromoaniline (4BAN), respectively, via constant potential electrolysis (CPE) in acetonitrile-water mixture (1:1 v/v) with NaClO4 as supporting electrolyte. Prior to CPE, electrochemical behavior of the monomers were investigated in organic medium utilizing cyclic voltammetry (CV). Th...
Oxazine containing molybdenum(VI)-oxodiperoxo complex immobilized on SBA-15 as highly active and selective catalyst in the oxidation of alkenes to epoxides under solvent-free conditions
Zare, Maryam; Moradi-Shoeili, Zeinab; Esmailpour, Parvin; AKBAYRAK, SERDAR; Özkar, Saim (2017-10-01)
Molybdenum(VI) oxodiperoxo complex containing an oxazine ligand, ([MoO(O-2)(2)(phox)], phox: 2-(2'-hydroxyphenyl)-5,6-dihydro-1,3-oxazine) was conveniently synthesized and immobilized onto chloro-functionalized mesoporous silica SBA-15 by covalent bonding between the chloropropyl group on the internal surface of the pores and the nitrogen atom of oxazine ligand yielding [MoO(O-2)(2)(phox)]/SBA-15. The resulting material was characterized by FT-IR, TGA, XRD, SEM, TEM, EDX, ICP-AES, BET and UV-vis spectroscop...
Enantioselective Friedel-Crafts alkylation of indole with nitroalkenes in the presence of bifunctional squaramide organocatalysts
Dündar, Esra; Tanyeli, Cihangir (2021-01-01)
A series of chiral bifunctional quinine and 2-aminoDMAP based squaramide organocatalysts are evaluated in Friedel-Crafts alkylation of indoles with nitroolefins. These 3-substituted indole derivatives are synthesized in the presence of sterically encumbered tert-butyl squaramide/quinine with high enantioselectivity (up to >99% ee) and moderate chemical yields (up to 80%) by representing as chiral precursors for very important biologically active molecules. Besides, this asymmetric transformation provides a ...
Critical Reading Discourse of Pre Service English Teachers in Turkey
Balıkçı, Gözde; Daloğlu, Ayşegül (2016-05-01)
This case study was conducted in order to observe and investigate the critical reading discourse (CRD) of 27 freshman pre-service teachers of English at the department of foreign language teaching at a state university in Turkey. In addition, the study attempts to answer the question of how the critical reading discourse of the students is shaped through feedback, instruction, and time. The written and audio-visual data were collected in the Advanced Reading and Writing...
Enantioselective Michael Addition of Nitroalkanes to Nitroalkenes Catalyzed by Chiral Bifunctional Quinine-Based Squaramides
KANBEROĞLU, Esra; Tanyeli, Cihangir (2016-01-01)
A family of chiral bifunctional acid-/base-type quinine/squaramide organocatalysts is shown to be highly active promoters of the conjugate addition of 1-nitropropane to various trans--nitroalkenes. The cooperation of the quinine and the sterically encumbered squaramide moieties catalyzed the Michael addition reactions at 0 degrees C by using a catalyst loading of only 2mol% to afford the 1,3-dinitro Michael adducts with excellent enantioselectivity and diastereoselectivity (up to 95%ee and syn/anti isomers ...
