The order-picking problem in parallel-aisle warehouses
Çelik, Melih; Süral, Haldun; Department of Industrial Engineering (2009)
Order-picking operations constitute the costliest activities in a warehouse. The order-picking problem (OPP) aims to determine the route of the picker(s) in such a way that the total order-picking time, hence the order-picking costs are minimized. In this study, a warehouse that consists of parallel pick aisles is assumed, and various versions of the OPP are considered. Although the single-picker version of the problem has been well studied in the literature, the multiple-picker version has not received muc...
The Dirac-Yukawa problem in view of pseudospin symmetry
AYDOĞDU, OKTAY; Sever, Ramazan (IOP Publishing, 2011-08-01)
An approximate analytical solution of the Dirac equation for the Yukawa potential under the pseudospin symmetry condition is obtained using the asymptotic iteration method. We discover the energy eigenvalue equation and some of the numerical results are listed. Wave functions are obtained in terms of hypergeometric functions. Extra degeneracies are removed by adding a new term, A/r(2), to the Yukawa potential. The effects of tensor interaction on the two states in the pseudospin doublet are also investigated.
THE ENERGY LOCALIZATION PROBLEM AND THE RENORMALIZED VACUUM ENERGY IN STATIC ROBERTSON-WALKER UNIVERSES
BAYM, SS (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1994-10-01)
We calculate the renormalized quantum vacuum energy inside a spherical boundary for the massless conformal scalar field in curved background Robertson-Walker geometry. We use the mode sum method with an exponential cuttoff. In our calculations we do not make assumptions about the exterior geometry or the global topology of the universe.
