Contemplation on resemblance of molecules

2003-11-28
Türker, Burhan Lemi
A novel index has been defined in general sense to give an idea about resemblance of two molecules. For that purpose, property vectors defined on n-dimensional Euclidean linear space have been used. A necessary condition is derived for two molecules to have high resemblance.

Contemplation on the heats of combustion of isomeric hydrocarbons
Türker, Burhan Lemi (Elsevier BV, 2004-07-05)
Within the Huckel molecular orbital theory, the heats of combustion of isomeric hydrocarbons are related to some topological factors. The standard heats of combustion values of alternant hydrocarbons, expressed as kcal/g, seem to be related to a(4) coefficient of their secular polynomials.
A perturbative treatment for the bound states of the Hellmann potential
Ikhdair, Sameer M.; Sever, Ramazan (Elsevier BV, 2007-05-14)
A new approximation formalism is applied to study the bound states of the Hellmann potential, which represents the superposition of the attractive Coulomb potential -a/r and the Yukawa potential bexp(-delta r)/r of arbitrary strength h and screening parameter delta. Although the analytic expressions for the energy eigenvalues E(n,l) yield quite accurate results for a wide range of n, f in the limit of very weak screening, the results become gradually worse as the strength b and the screening coefficient 6 i...
Certain cyclophane-fused-azaindoline kind spirooxazines and their some isomers: an AM1 treatment
Tuurker, L (Elsevier BV, 2004-06-22)
A certain set of spirooxazine structures possessing an azaindoline moiety as well as a cyclophane system have been considered such that the position of aza-nitrogen varied in each structure. Also their isomeric acyclic forms are considered. The AM I (RHF) type semiempirical quantum chemical treatment on these species has been performed.
Resemblance of molecules in contracted space
Türker, Burhan Lemi (Elsevier BV, 2003-11-28)
A novel approach has been developed to get an idea for the resemblance of a set of molecules. Property vectors are defined in m-dimensional linear Euclidean space and their resemblance in 3-dimensional space has been considered.
Theoretical investigation of melatonin and its hydroxy isomers
Erkoc, A; Erkoc, F; Keskin, N (Elsevier BV, 2002-07-05)
The structural and electronic properties of melatonin and its six hydroxy isomers have been investigated theoretically by performing semi-empirical and ab initio molecular orbital theory calculations. The geometry of the systems has been optimized considering the semi-empirical molecular orbital theory at the level of AM I, and the electronic properties of the systems have been calculated by ab initio RHF including full MP2 correlation correction in their ground state. Conclusions were drawn by comparing wi...
