Carbonyl-metal (M:Cr, Mo, W) derivatives of 4-substituted pyridines [4-methylpyridine (4-mp), 4-tert-butylpyridine (4-tbp) and 4-dimethylaminopyridine (4-dmap)] where the metal center is bonded to the nitrogen atom of the substituted pyridine ring are described. The organometallic complexes, M(CO)(5)L, were synthesized by either the direct reaction of the metal hexacarbonyls or by the thermal substitution of M(CO)(5)(THF) with the pyridine ligands; 4-methylpyridine (1), 4-tert-butylpyridine (2), 4-dimethylaminopyridine (3). The reported complexes were purified by column chromatography and recrystallization. The complexes were all characterized in solution by elemental analysis, MS, ir ,(1) H-nmr and (13) stopC-nmr spectroscopies.

Synthesis, crystal structure and characterization of new transition metal compounds of bromophenols: Bis(2,4,6-tribromophenolato) di(N-methylimidazole)M(II) (M=Co, Cu)
Camurlu, P; Yılmaz, Ayşen; Tatar, L; Kisakurek, D; Ulku, D (Wiley, 2005-03-01)
Bis(2,4,6-tribromophenolato)di(N-methyl imidazole)M(II), where M stands for cobalt and copper metals, was synthesized via reaction of the corresponding metal sulphate and 2,4,6-tribromophenolate in aqueous media in the presence of N-methyl imidazole and sodium hydroxide. Although various crystallization procedures were applied only cobalt complex was obtained as single crystals. The Co(II) ion has a distorted octahedral enviroment involving two O atoms and two N atoms of the Bis(2,4,6-tribromopbenolato)di(N...
Synthesis and characterization of conducting graft copolymers based on oligophenols
Sahmetlioglu, Ertugrul; Arikan, Ufuk; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Yuruk, Huseyin; Mart, Hasan (Informa UK Limited, 2006-10-01)
Oligo-2-aminophenol (OAF) was synthesized with oxidative polycondensation of 2-aminophenol and hydrogen peroxide in an aqueous alkaline medium at 80 degrees C. Oligo-2-aminophenol with thiophene side groups (TOAF) was obtained by the reaction of OAF and thiophene-3-acetic acid. Graft copolymers of TOAF and pyrrole were synthesized by electrochemical polymerization in p-toluene sulfonic acid (PTSA)/water medium. Characterization of the graft copolymer (TOAF-g-Py), was carried out by combination of techniques...
Synthesis, crystal structure, spectroscopic investigations, thermal behavior and DFT calculations of pentacarbonyl(2-methylpyrazine)chromium(0)
MORKAN, İzzet; Celik, Derya; Morkan, Ayse Uztetik; GÜVEN, KUTALMIŞ (2012-07-01)
Pentacarbonyl(2-methylpyrazine)chromium(0) [Cr(CO)(5)(2mpyz)], complex was isolated from its n-hexane solution as orange plate-like crystals which were characterized by IR, NMR spectroscopies and X-ray crystallography. The crystallographic results show that the complex was crystallized in the monoclinic system with the unit cell parameters of a = 7.176 (5), b = 12.045 (3), c = 14.461 (3)angstrom, beta=90.44 (3)degrees and space group 2/M. The single crystal structure of the complex shows the bonding of chro...
Synthesis and pyrolysis of ABC type miktoarm star copolymers with polystyrene, poly(lactic acid) and poly(ethylene glycol) arms
Ozlem, Suriye; Iskin, Birol; Yilmaz, Gorkem; Kukut, Manolya; Hacaloğlu, Jale; Yagci, Yusuf (2012-10-01)
An ABC type miktoarm star copolymer possessing polystyrene (PS), poly(lactic acid) (PLA) and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) arms was synthesized by combining Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization (ATRP) and Ring Opening Polymerization (ROP) with two click chemistries, namely thiol-ene and copper catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC). For this purpose, a core 1-(allyloxy)-3-azidopropan-2-ol with allyl and azide functionalities was synthesized in two steps. Then, clickable polymers, polystyrene with thiol ...
Synthesis and characterization of thiophen-3-yl acetic acid 4-pyrrol-1-yl phenyl ester and its conducting polymers
BINGÖL, Bahar; GÜNER, Yusuf; Çırpan, Ali; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Informa UK Limited, 2005-08-01)
Thiophen-3-yl acetic acid 4-pyrrol-1-yl phenyl ester (TAPE) monomer was synthesized via reaction of thiophen-3-yl acetyl chloride with 4-pyrrol-1-yl phenol. Homopolymers were achieved by using electrochemical and chemical polymerization techniques. Copolymers of TAPE with bithiophene or pyrrole were synthesized by potentiostatic electrochemical polymerization in acetonitrile-tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate (TBAFB) solvent-electrolyte couple. The chemical structures were confirmed by both Nuclear Magnet...
