A novel method was developed for the organic and polymer free preparation of Cu2O nanocubes. Water-dispersible Cu2O nanocubes were prepared at room temperature by using a simple two steps procedure: the reduction of copper(II) sulfate by sodium borohydride generates the copper(O) nanoclusters stabilized by hydrogenphosphate towards the aggregation in aqueous solution. The hydrogen phosphate stabilized copper(0) nanoclusters initially formed are slowly oxidized by dissolved oxygen forming the Cu2O nanocubes which were isolated from the Solution and characterized by using TEM, XRD, XPS, P-31 NMR, FTIR, Fluorescence and UV-Vis spectroscopic methods.

A novel experimental and density functional theory study on palladium and nitrogen doped few layer graphene surface towards glucose adsorption and electrooxidation
Caglar, Aykut; Duzenli, Derya; Önal, Işık; Tezsevin, Ilker; Sahin, Ozlem; Demir Kıvrak, Hilal (Elsevier BV, 2021-03-01)
At present, few layer graphene (G) and nitrogen doped few layer graphene (N doped-G) are firstly coated on Cu foil via chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method and G and N doped-G coated Cu foil is transferred to the indium tin oxide (ITO) substrate surface to obtain electrodes. Pd metal is electrodeposited onto the N doped-G/ITO electrode (Pd-N doped-G/ITO). Pd-N doped-G/ITO electrode are characterized with advanced surface characterization methods such as Raman spectroscopy and SEM-EDX. Characterization res...
A constitutive model of nanocrystalline metals based on competing grain boundary and grain interior deformation mechanisms
Gürses, Ercan (Elsevier BV, 2011-12-01)
In this work, a viscoplastic constitutive model for nanocrystalline metals is presented. The model is based on competing grain boundary and grain interior deformation mechanisms. In particular, inelastic deformations caused by grain boundary diffusion, grain boundary sliding and dislocation activities are considered. Effects of pressure on the grain boundary diffusion and sliding mechanisms are taken into account. Furthermore, the influence of grain size distribution on macroscopic response is studied. The ...
Preparation and characterization of zeolite framework stabilized cuprous oxide nanoparticles
Zahmakiran, Mehmet; Özkar, Saim (Elsevier BV, 2009-05-15)
Zeolite framework stabilized copper(I) oxide nanoparticles (4.8 +/- 2.6 nm) were prepared for the first time by using a four step procedure: the ion exchange of Cu(2+) ions with the extra framework Na(+) ions in Zeolite-Y, the reduction of the Cu(2+) ions within the cavities of zeolite with sodium borohydride in aqueous solution, the dehydration of Zeolite-Y with the copper(0) nanoclusters, and the oxidation of intrazeolite copper(0) nanoclusters by O(2) at room temperature. Zeolite stabilized copper(I) oxi...
Thin films of hard cubic Zr3N4 stabilized by stress
Chhowalla, M; Ünalan, Hüsnü Emrah (Nature Materials, 2005-04-01)
Hard, refractory thin films consisting of group IVB element mono-nitrides deposited using various chemical and physical vapour-deposition techniques are widely used in wear-resistant applications. As the demand for performance exceeds the capabilities of existing materials, new materials with superior properties must be developed. Here we report the realization and characterization of hard cubic Zr3N4 (c-Zr3N4) thin films. The films, deposited using a novel but industrially viable modified filtered cathodic...
Synthesis of aromatic poly(pyridinium salt)s and their electrochromic properties
Keshtov, M. L.; UDUM, YASEMİN; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Kochurov, V. S.; Khokhlov, A. R. (Elsevier BV, 2013-05-15)
Synthesis of a series of new conjugated electrochromic polymeric pyridinium salts containing main-chain triphenylamine and their electrochromic properties were demonstrated. All polymers exhibit intense UV absorptions at 336-338 nm in DMF and 340-343 nm in thin film form and fluorescence centered at 410-438 nm in DMF and 460-461 nm in thin film form. The electrochromic properties of the films were investigated by electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical methods. Reversible redox signals with stable electr...
