In this study phenylselenocyanate and some of its derivatives (o-Cl, p-Cl, p-Br, o-NO2, p-NO2, o-CH3, p-CH3, o-COOH, p-COOH, p-OCH3 substituted) were synthesized (3a-3j). The synthesized compounds were converted to 5-aryl-1H-tetrazole (4a-4j), by Et3N . HCl-NaN3 in toluene, which are a new series of phenylselanyl-1H-tetrazoles. The structure of all the presently synthesized compounds were confirmed using spectroscopic methods (FTIR, H-1 NMR, MS). (c) 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

ANODIC POTENTIAL HOMO ENERGY RELATIONS OF FLUORENE DERIVATIVES
SEN, S; CELEBI, N; TURKER, L; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar (Wiley, 1993-09-01)
Anodic oxidation peak potentials (E(p,a)) of some fluorene derivatives were measured on a Pt-degrees electrode versus Ag-degrees/Ag+ in acetonitrile-TBAFB by cyclic voltammetry. The highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) energies of the compounds were calculated within the Huckel molecular orbital (HMO) framework. The measured E(p,a) values were correlated to theoretical HOMO energies with a linear regression model.
1,3-DIPOLAR CYCLOADDITION REACTIONS OF SOME 1-ARYL-PYRIDINIUM-3-OLATES
CELEBI, N; CETINER, O; GULEC, A; Türker, Burhan Lemi (Wiley, 1993-07-01)
In this study, the reactivities of 1-(2,4-dinitrophenyl)-, 1-(4,6-dimethylpyrimidin-2-yl)-, and 1-(5-nitro-2-pyridyl)-pyridinium-3-olates were tested upon various inductively and mesomerically electron rich dipolarophiles. N-substituted pyridinium-3-olates react across the 2,6-positions with 2pi-dipolarophiles whereas 4pi-dipolarophiles added across both 2,6 and 2,4 positions of the betaines.
Behaviour of bimetallic Pt-Pd carbon-supported catalysts in methanol electrooxidation
Gokagac, G; Leger, JM; Hahn, F (Walter de Gruyter GmbH, 2003-05-01)
Carbon powder supported bimetallic 8w%Pt+8w%Pd/C, 8w%Pt+6w%Pd/C, 8w%Pt+4w%Pd/C, Sw%Pt+2w%Pd/C, 8w%Pt/C and 8w%Pd/C samples were prepared, characterised and tested for the electrooxidation of methanol. The particle sizes were found to depend greatly on the composition and the metal content. With pure palladium and samples rich in palladium, the diameter of the bimetallic particles was around 150 nm, but with pure Pt and samples poor in Pd it was much smaller, below 5 nm. The electrocatalytic activity of thes...
Aryl butenoic acid derivatives as a new class of histone deacetylase inhibitors: synthesis, in vitro evaluation, and molecular docking studies
Esiyok, Peruze Ayhan; Seven, Ozlem; Eymur, Guluzar; Tatar, Gamze Bora; DAYANGAÇ ERDEN, DİDEM; YELEKÇİ, Kemal; YURTER, HAYAT; Demir, Ayhan Sıtkı (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, 2014-01-01)
New aryl butenoic acid derivatives have been synthesized by combining hydroxy- or methoxy-substituted phenyl rings as the capping group, with a double bond in the short linker as well as metal binding groups, enoic ester, and salts bearing either methyl or morpholine. These compounds have been shown to possess promising histone deacetylase inhibition activities via in vitro fluorometric assay and molecular docking studies.
Phase transition of chemically synthesized FePt nanoparticles under high pressure
ŞİMŞEK, TELEM; Karci, Ozgur; ÖZCAN, ŞADAN (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, 2018-01-01)
We present the results of a study related to phase transformation of chemically synthesized FePt nanoparticles under high pressure from face-centered cubic into face-centered tetragonal structure. As-synthesized nanoparticles are around 4.5 nm and show superparamagnetic behavior at 300 K. After annealing under 60 bar pressure of hydrogen at 400 degrees C for 2 h, nanoparticles exhibit strong ferromagnetic behavior with 5391 Oe coercivity. Results show that high-pressure annealing lowers the decomposition te...
