We consider a scenario with an additional scalar standard model singlet phi(S), living in a single extra dimension of the RS1 background. The zero mode of this scalar which is localized in the extra dimension is a dark matter candidate and the annihilation cross section is strongly sensitive to its localization parameter. As a second scenario, we assume that the standard model Higgs field is accessible to the fifth flat extra dimension. At first we take the additional standard model singlet scalar field as accessible to the sixth extra dimension and its zero mode is a possible dark matter candidate. Second, we consider that the new standard model singlet, the dark matter candidate, lives in four dimensions. In both choices the KK modes of the standard model Higgs field play an observable role for the large values of the compactification radius R and the effective coupling lambda(S) is of the order of 10(-2)-10(-1) (10(-6)) far from (near to) the resonant annihilation.

Associative photoproduction of charmed particles near threshold
Rekalo, MP; Tomasi-Gustafsson, E (Elsevier BV, 2001-02-15)
We calculate the cross section and the beam asymmetry for exclusive photoproduction of charmed particles near threshold (gamma + p --> Lambda (+)(c) (D-0) over bar), in the framework of an effective Lagrangian model. We discuss the sensitivity of these observables to the magnetic moment of the Lambda (c) baryon and of the coupling constant in the p Lambda D-c vertex. We show that exclusive measurements allow, in principle, to determine the magnetic moments of charmed baryons. (C) 2001 Published by Elsevier ...
Sneutrino dark matter: Symmetry protection and cosmic ray anomalies
Demir, Durmus A.; Everett, Lisa L.; Frank, Mariana; Selbuz, Levent; Turan, İsmail (American Physical Society (APS), 2010-02-01)
We present an R-parity conserving model of sneutrino dark matter within a Higgsphilic U(1)' extension of the minimal supersymmetric standard model. In this theory, the mu parameter and light Dirac neutrino masses are generated naturally upon the breaking of the U(1)' gauge symmetry. One of the right-handed sneutrinos is the lightest supersymmetric particle. The leptonic and hadronic decays of another sneutrino, taken to be the next-to-lightest superpartner, allow for a natural fit to the recent results repo...
Universal extra dimensions and Kaluza-Klein bound states
Carone, CD; Conroy, JM; Sher, M; Turan, İsmail (American Physical Society (APS), 2004-04-01)
We study the bound states of the Kaluza-Klein (KK) excitations of quarks in certain models of universal extra dimensions. Such bound states may be detected at future lepton colliders in the cross section for the pair production of KK quarks near threshold. For typical values of model parameters, we find that "KK quarkonia" have widths in the 10-100 MeV range, and production cross sections of the order of a few picobarns for the lightest resonances. Two body decays of the constituent KK quarks lead to distin...
Double-lepton polarization asymmetries and branching ratio in B -> K-0(*)(1430)l(+)l(-) transition from universal extra dimension model
ŞİRVANLI, BERİN BELMA; AZİZİ, KAZEM; İpekoğlu, Yusuf (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2011-01-01)
We investigate the B -> K-0(*)(1430)l(+)l(-) transition in the Applequist-Cheng-Dobrescu model in the presence of a universal extra dimension. In particular, we calculate double lepton polarization asymmetries and branching ratio related to this channel and compare the obtained results with the predictions of the standard model. Our analysis of the considered observables in terms of radius R of the compactified extra-dimension as the new parameter of the model show a considerable discrepancy between the pre...
Kundt solutions of minimal massive 3D gravity
Deger, Nihat Sadik; Sarıoğlu, Bahtiyar Özgür (AMER PHYSICAL SOC, ONE PHYSICS ELLIPSE, COLLEGE PK, MD 20740-3844 USA, 2015-11-04)
We construct Kundt solutions of minimal massive gravity theory and show that, similar to topologically massive gravity (TMG), most of them are constant scalar invariant (CSI) spacetimes that correspond to deformations of round and warped (A) dS. We also find an explicit non-CSI Kundt solution at the merger point. Finally, we give their algebraic classification with respect to the traceless Ricci tensor (Segre classification) and show that their Segre types match with the types of their counterparts in TMG.
