In this paper, several important applications of a metamaterial absorber (MA) based sensors such as temperature, pressure, moisture, and density are presented. Since the sensing ability mostly considers the resonance frequency, the frequency range where the resonance shifts occur linearly or non-linearly depending on the temperature, pressure, moisture, and density changes is selected carefully. The model is composed of X shaped resonators (XSR), dielectric substrate, the sensing layer, dielectric substrate again, and metallic plate, in order. Sensing layer changes its dielectric behavior depending on the temperature, pressure, moisture, and density variations and letting us to determine the unknown values of the mentioned parameters. According to the results, the proposed model can be used in myriad sensing applications for the studied microwave frequency band. (C) 2016 The Electrochemical Society. All rights reserved.

Photoelectronic and electrical properties of InS crystals
Qasrawi, AF; Hasanlı, Nızamı (IOP Publishing, 2002-12-01)
To identify the localized levels in InS single crystals, the dark electrical conductivity, current-voltage characteristics and photoconductivity measurements were carried out in the temperature range of 10-350 K. Temperature dependence of dark electrical conductivity and the space-charge limited current studies indicate the presence of a single discrete trapping level located at (10 +/- 2) meV below the conduction band with a density of about 4.8 x 10(11) cm(-3). The conductivity data above 110 K reveal an ...
All-Organic Electrochromic Supercapacitor Electrodes
YÜKSEL, Recep; CEVHER, ŞEVKİ CAN; Çırpan, Ali; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Ünalan, Hüsnü Emrah (The Electrochemical Society, 2015-01-01)
The need for determining the instant capacity of an energy storage device has led to the integration of an indicator gauge in batteries. Consumers only have to press the contact points on the battery to activate a thermochromic indicator, which measures the heat resistance of the device. This can be implemented in a supercapacitor through electrochromism, eliminating the necessity to press on the contact points. With this motivation, here we report on the fabrication and characterization of all-organic mult...
Investigation of localized levels in GaS0.5Se0.5 layered crystals by means of electrical, space-charge limited current and photoconductivity measurements
Qasrawi, AF; Hasanlı, Nızamı (Wiley, 2002-11-16)
To identify the localized levels in GaS0.5Se0.5 single crystals, the dark electrical conductivity, current-voltage characteristics and photoconductivity measurements were carried out in the temperature range of 250-400 K. Temperature dependence of dark electrical conductivity and the space-charge limited current studies indicate the presence of a single discrete trapping level located at 0.31 eV below the conduction band with a density of about 1.3 x 10(15) cm(-3). The conductivity data above 320 K reveal a...
Experimental insight into the performance characteristics of Ni-mesh semiconductor photo-electrochemical cells
Bayer, I; Eroğlu, İnci; Turker, L (Elsevier BV, 2000-04-15)
The performance characteristics of two photo-electrochemical cells with different cell configurations were investigated at 25 degrees C and within the illumination range of 70-100 W/m(2). These cells included a jacketed single cell (JSC) and a jacketed two-compartment cell (JTC). Ni-mesh was used as a counter electrode and as a backing material for semiconductor electrodes. Semiconductor electrodes were prepared by silk-screen painting technique using TiO2, WO3, PbO, Sb2S3, ZnO, Al2O3 or CuO powder mixed wi...
Sequential Deposition of Electrochromic MoO3 Thin Films with High Coloration Efficiency and Stability
Turel, Onur; Hacioglu, Serife O.; Coskun, Sahin; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Ünalan, Hüsnü Emrah (The Electrochemical Society, 2017-01-01)
Effect of thin film deposition route on the morphology and performance of molybdenum oxide (MoO3) based electrochromic devices was investigated. For the deposition of thin films, a sequential deposition method, which includes ultrasonic spray pyrolysis (USP) and thermal evaporation methods was used. Films deposited solely using either USP or thermal evaporation method were used as control samples. Following deposition, MoO3 thin films were then characterized using X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spec...
