For original paper, see Holzman (IEEE Trans. Antennas Propag., vol. 51, no.10, p.2963-7, 2003). The present author suggests that the equation given for taper efficiency in the paper by Holzman is misleading and discusses this point.

Hybrid connection of RF MEMS and SMT components in an impedance tuner
Unlu, Mehmet; Topalli, Kagan; Atasoy, Halil Ibrahim; Demir, Şimşek; Aydın Çivi, Hatice Özlem; Akın, Tayfun (Elsevier BV, 2010-01-01)
This paper presents a systematic construction of a model for a hybrid connected RF MEMS and SMT components in a reconfigurable impedance tuner. The double stub hybrid impedance tuner which employs a high number of MEMS switches is selected to demonstrate the feasibility of the connections. In the hybrid tuner, MEMS switches are actuated with DC bias signals, where SMT resistors de-couple RF from the DC lines. The hybrid tuner is realized in two steps, where the MEMS impedance tuner is fabricated on a glass ...

Multipath Characteristics of Frequency Diverse Arrays Over a Ground Plane
Cetintepe, Cagri; Demir, Şimşek (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2014-07-01)
This paper presents a theoretical framework for an analytical investigation of multipath characteristics of frequency diverse arrays (FDAs), a task which is attempted for the first time in the open literature. In particular, transmitted field expressions are formulated for an FDA over a perfectly conducting ground plane first in a general analytical form, and these expressions are later simplified under reasonable assumptions. Developed formulation is then applied to a uniform, linear, continuous-wave opera...
Practical EMI-filter-design procedure for high-power high-frequency SMPS according to MIL-STD 461
Cadirci, I; Saka, B; Eristiren, Y (Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), 2005-07-01)
The paper presents a very practical EMI-filter design procedure for high-power high-frequency switch-mode power supplies (SMPS), conforming to the military standard MIL-STD 461. The design procedure is based on the knowledge of base-line common-mode (CM), and differential-mode (DM) EMI. Conducted-emission tests are carried out first according to MIL-STD 461. The measuring current probe only is used to separate the total conducted EMI into CM, and DM components, without the need for a special noise separator...
CBFEM-MPI: A Parallelized Version of Characteristic Basis Finite Element Method for Extraction of 3-D Interconnect Capacitances
Ozgun, Ozlem; Mittra, Raj; Kuzuoğlu, Mustafa (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2009-02-01)
In this paper, we present a novel, non-iterative domain decomposition method, which has been parallelized by using the message passing interface (MPI) library, and used to efficiently extract the capacitance matrixes of 3-D interconnect structures, by employing characteristic basis functions (CBFs) in the context of the finite element method (FEM). In this method, which is Failed CBFEM-MPI, the computational domain is partitioned into a number of nonoverlapping subdomains in which the CBFs are constructed b...
