Eriochrome Black T-Eu3+ Complex as a Ratiometric Colorimetric and Fluorescent Probe for the Detection of Dipicolinic Acid, a Biomarker of Bacterial Spores
Yilmaz, M. Deniz; Öktem, Hüseyin Avni (American Chemical Society (ACS), 2018-03-20)
A novel ratiometric colorimetric and fluorescent dual probe based on Eriochrome Black T (EBT) Eu3+ complex was designed to detect dipicolinic acid (DPA), a major constituent of bacterial spores, with high sensitivity and selectivity. UV vis titration experiments demonstrated that EBT and Eu3+ ions formed a 1:1 coordination pair in water. In the presence of Eu3+ ions, the blue solution of EBT changed to magenta, however, upon the addition of DPA, the magenta color changed to blue immediately and characterist...
Feedback motion planning of unmanned surface vehicles via random sequential composition
Ege, Emre; Ankaralı, Mustafa Mert (SAGE Publications, 2019-08-01)
In this paper, we propose a new motion planning method that aims to robustly and computationally efficiently solve path planning and navigation problems for unmanned surface vehicles (USVs). Our approach is based on synthesizing two different existing methodologies: sequential composition of dynamic behaviours and rapidly exploring random trees (RRT). The main motivation of this integrated solution is to develop a robust feedback-based and yet computationally feasible motion planning algorithm for USVs. In ...
Spectroscopic intensities as measures of order parameter close to order-disorder transitions
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1988-01-01)
The infrared and Raman intensities can be related to the order parameter close to order-disorder phase transitions in crystal systems. In the present study this relationship has been obtained and compared with our experimental results for ammonium halides. Our predictions give satisfactory agreement with the observations in these crystals. It is proposed that the FTIR techniques can be appropriately used to evaluating the order parameter in various crystal systems.
Evaluation of metal concentrations in groundwater nearby Soma coal-fired power plant
Sası, Gıuma; Tuncel, Semra G.; Department of Chemistry (2005)
In this work, metal pollution in groundwater near by Soma coal-fired power plant was invistigated. Coal combustion results in huge amounts of bottom ash from which metals can originate and migrate to groundwater and pollute it. Forty groundwater samples were collected from water wells in an area near by the power plant to determine 14 metals namely; Na, Ca, K, Mg, Al, Ba, Fe, Zn, Cu, Pb, Cr, Cd, Ni and V. Samples were collected in polyethylene bottles, the pH of the water was measured. Then, the samples wer...
Polarographic determination of Pb(II) and Cd(II) with selective removal of Se(IV) using ionic poly(N,N-dimethylacrylamide-co-allylthiourea)
Inam, R; Caykara, T; Özcan Kabasakal, Süreyya; Yagmur, M (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2005-12-01)
Hydrogels based on N,N-dimethylacrylamide (DMAAm), allylthiourea (ATU), and maleic acid (MA) were synthesized by free-radical cross-linking copolymerization in water with N,N-methylene-bis(acrylamide) (BAAm) as the cross-linker, ammonium persulfate (APS) as the initiator, and N,N,N',N'-tetramethyl-enediamine (TEMED) as the activator. Since Se(IV) is the most serious interfering element in the electroanalytical (polarographic or voltammetric) determination of lead and cadmium, a new method for their correct ...
