Sub-micron (150-200 nm), monodisperse and spherical powders of pure and Dy-doped (0.8 at%) BaTiO3 have been prepared by "hydrothermal synthesis" at 90 degrees C in an air atmosphere. The powder preparation technique adopted in this work did not necessitate the utilization of strict and expensive measures which were commonly required for the removal of free CO2 present in the atmosphere. The synthesized powders were crystalline, pure, and did not contain BaCO3 as an impurity phase. Pure and Dy-doped BaTiO3 powders synthesized at 90 degrees C had the cubic (space group: Pm-3m) crystal structure. Grain growth characteristics of pure and Dy-doped BaTiO3 pellets were investigated during sintering in air and compared with one another over the temperature range of 1200 to 1500 degrees C. Sample characterization was achieved by XRD, SEM, EDXS, and Rietveld Analysis.

Hydrothermal synthesis of Dy-doped BaTiO3 powders
Oren, EE; Tas, AC (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1999-12-01)
Submicron-sized (similar to 200 nm), monodisperse, and spherical powders of pure and dysprosium (Dy)doped (0.8 at, pet) BaTiO3 have been prepared by "hydrothermal synthesis" at 90 degrees C in an air atmosphere. The powder preparation procedure developed in this work did not necessitate the use of strict and expensive processes, which were commonly required for the removal of free CO2 present in the atmosphere. The prepared powders were found to be crystalline, pure, and contained no BaCO3 as an impurity ph...
Thermally stimulated current observation of trapping centers in layered thallium dichalcogenide semiconductors
Yüksek, Nuh Sadi; Özkan, Hüsnü; Department of Physics (2004)
Thermally stimulated current measurements are carried out on as-grown TlGaS2, TlGaSe2 and TlInS2 layered single crystals with the current owing perpendiclar to the c-axis in the wide temperature range of 10-300 K with various heating rates. Experimental evidence is found for the presence of three, two and one trapping centers for TlGaS2 , TlGaSe2 and TlInS2 crystals with activation energies 6, 12 and 26; 98 and 130; 12 meV respectively. We have determined the trap parameters using varous methods of analyis,...
Hydroxyapatite and zirconia composites: Effect of MgO and MgF2 on the stability of phases and sinterability
Evis, Zafer; KUTBAY, IŞIL (2008-07-15)
Composites of hydroxyapatite with cubic zirconia with MgO or MgF2 were pressureless sintered at temperatures from 1000 to 1300 degrees C. The reactions and transformations of phases were monitored with X-ray diffraction. For the hydroxyapatite and zirconia composites with MgO, calcium diffused from hydroxyapatite into the zirconia, and hydroxyapatite decomposed to tri-calcium phosphate at sintering temperatures higher than 1000 degrees C. Above about 1200 degrees C, CaZrO3 was formed. Composites containing ...
Excitation intensity- and temperature-dependent photoluminescence in layered structured Tl2GaInSe2S2 crystals
Hasanlı, Nızamı (AIP Publishing, 2013-02-21)
Photoluminescence spectra of Tl2GaInSe2S2 layered crystals have been registered in the temperature range of 17-62 K and in the wavelength region of 525-690 nm. A broad visible photoluminescence band centered at 590 nm (2.10 eV) was observed at T 17 K. Variation of emission band has been studied as a function of laser excitation intensity in the 0.1-55.7 mW cm(-2) range. The analysis of the spectra reveals that the peak energy position changes with excitation intensity (blue shift). The radiative transitions...
Magnetic ordering in two ferromagnetic sublattices of two mixed-valence iron(II)-iron(III) metal formate frameworks
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (2019-11-01)
Temperature dependence of magnetization (M) is calculated for two mixed-valence iron(II) - iron(III) metal formate frameworks (MOFs) with the two ferromagnetic sublattices below T-comp (compensation temperature) at 100 Oe by the molecular field theory. Temperature dependence of magnetization (M-T) is analyzed between T(comp )and T-ord = 39K (ordering temperature) by the power-law formula using the literature data for those compounds. Power-law analysis is also carried out for the field dependence of magneti...
