We study the double-lepton polarization asymmetries and single and double-lepton polarization forward-backward asymmetries of the rare b -> sl(+)l(-) mode within the standard model and in the Appelquist-Cheng-Dobrescu model, which is a new physics scenario with a single universal extra dimension. In particular, we examine the sensitivity of the observables to the radius R of the compactified extra dimension, which is the new parameter in this new physics model.

Double-lepton polarization asymmetries and branching ratio in B -> K-0(*)(1430)l(+)l(-) transition from universal extra dimension model

We investigate the B -> K-0(*)(1430)l(+)l(-) transition in the Applequist-Cheng-Dobrescu model in the presence of a universal extra dimension. In particular, we calculate double lepton polarization asymmetries and branching ratio related to this channel and compare the obtained results with the predictions of the standard model. Our analysis of the considered observables in terms of radius R of the compactified extra-dimension as the new parameter of the model show a considerable discrepancy between the pre...
Double-lepton polarization asymmetries in the exclusive B ->rho l+l(-) decay beyond the standard model
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (American Physical Society (APS), 2005-08-01)
The double-lepton polarization asymmetries in B ->rho l(+)l(-) decay are analyzed in a model independent framework. The general expressions for nine double-polarization asymmetries are calculated. It is shown that the study of the double-lepton polarization asymmetries proves to be a very useful tool in looking for new physics beyond the standard model.
Double-lepton polarizations in B -> l(+)l(-)gamma decay
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (American Physical Society (APS), 2005-02-01)
Double-lepton polarization asymmetries in the B-->l(+)l(-)gamma decay are calculated using the most general, model independent form of the effective Hamiltonian including all possible forms of the interaction. The dependencies of the asymmetries on new Wilson coefficients are investigated. The detectability of the averaged double-lepton polarization asymmetries at LHC is also discussed.
B decays in an asymmetric left-right model
Frank, Mariana; Hayreter, Alper; Turan, İsmail (American Physical Society (APS), 2010-08-25)
Motivated by recently observed disagreements with the standard model predictions in B decays, we study b -> d, s transitions in an asymmetric class of SU(2)(L) x SU(2)(R) x U(1)(B-L) models, with a simple one-parameter structure of the right-handed mixing matrix for the quarks, which obeys the constraints from kaon physics. We use experimental constraints on the branching ratios of b -> s gamma, b -> ce (nu) over bar (e), and B-d,s(0) - (B) over barB(d,s)(0) mixing to restrict the parameters of the model: g...
Universal extra dimensions and Kaluza-Klein bound states
Carone, CD; Conroy, JM; Sher, M; Turan, İsmail (American Physical Society (APS), 2004-04-01)
We study the bound states of the Kaluza-Klein (KK) excitations of quarks in certain models of universal extra dimensions. Such bound states may be detected at future lepton colliders in the cross section for the pair production of KK quarks near threshold. For typical values of model parameters, we find that "KK quarkonia" have widths in the 10-100 MeV range, and production cross sections of the order of a few picobarns for the lightest resonances. Two body decays of the constituent KK quarks lead to distin...
