The Brillouin-zone database of the Bilbao Crystallographic Server (http://www.cryst.ehu.es) offers k-vector tables and figures which form the background of a classification of the irreducible representations of all 230 space groups. The symmetry properties of the wavevectors are described by the so-called reciprocal-space groups and this classification scheme is compared with the classification of Cracknell et al. [Kronecker Product Tables, Vol. 1, General Introduction and Tables of Irreducible Representations of Space Groups (1979). New York: IFI/Plenum]. The compilation provides a solution to the problems of uniqueness and completeness of space-group representations by specifying the independent parameter ranges of general and special k vectors. Guides to the k-vector tables and figures explain the content and arrangement of the data. Recent improvements and modifications of the Brillouin-zone database, including new tables and figures for the trigonal, hexagonal and monoclinic space groups, are discussed in detail and illustrated by several examples.

An ab initio treatment on some isomeric structures of a small pseudocyclacene
Türker, Burhan Lemi (Elsevier BV, 2003-10-03)
At the level of 6-31G (RHF) type ab initio calculations, some structures isomeric with the pseudocyclacene are considered. Some structures have the same or almost the same energy values. This situation causes the pseudocyclacene structure to be vague at the level of calculations.
Certain cyclophane-fused-azaindoline kind spirooxazines and their some isomers: an AM1 treatment
Tuurker, L (Elsevier BV, 2004-06-22)
A certain set of spirooxazine structures possessing an azaindoline moiety as well as a cyclophane system have been considered such that the position of aza-nitrogen varied in each structure. Also their isomeric acyclic forms are considered. The AM I (RHF) type semiempirical quantum chemical treatment on these species has been performed.
A perturbative treatment for the bound states of the Hellmann potential
Ikhdair, Sameer M.; Sever, Ramazan (Elsevier BV, 2007-05-14)
A new approximation formalism is applied to study the bound states of the Hellmann potential, which represents the superposition of the attractive Coulomb potential -a/r and the Yukawa potential bexp(-delta r)/r of arbitrary strength h and screening parameter delta. Although the analytic expressions for the energy eigenvalues E(n,l) yield quite accurate results for a wide range of n, f in the limit of very weak screening, the results become gradually worse as the strength b and the screening coefficient 6 i...
Calculation of the Raman Linewidths of Lattice Modes Close to the alpha-beta Transition in Quartz
Lider, Mustafa Cem; Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (Walter de Gruyter GmbH, 2012-12-01)
The Raman frequencies of the lattice modes (147 cm(-1) and 207 cm(-1)) are analyzed for the alpha-beta transition in quartz according to a power-law formula with the critical exponent by using the experimental data. The temperature dependence of the Raman frequency is associated with the order parameter (polarization P) for this transition in the quartz crystal.
Contemplation on resemblance of molecules
Türker, Burhan Lemi (Elsevier BV, 2003-11-28)
A novel index has been defined in general sense to give an idea about resemblance of two molecules. For that purpose, property vectors defined on n-dimensional Euclidean linear space have been used. A necessary condition is derived for two molecules to have high resemblance.
