Digital home business is a large potential market for which ACEMIND European collaborative project intends to provide a set of consistent solutions to enhance the local network management in home and small enterprises. These networks are typically constituted by some tens of devices connected to each other via a set of wired and wireless technologies. The deployment of such networks has been intensive in Europe in the last decade and will continue in the future. However common end-users still suffer from complicated installation, operation or maintenance.

UNCERTAINTY CALCULATION-AS-A-SERVICE: AN IIOT APPLICATION FOR AUTOMATED RF POWER SENSOR CALIBRATION
Çetinkaya, Anıl; Kaya, Muhammed Çağrı; Danaci, Erkan; Oğuztüzün, Mehmet Halit S. (2022-01-01)
Providing automated and networked solutions on the cloud will remarkably facilitate ongoing digitalization efforts in Metrology and the calibration industry. The AutoRFPower application was developed to automate the RF power measurement process and uncertainty calculations. This study presents our ongoing research on moving this application to a cloud environment and adapting it to perform power sensor calibrations. The cloud-based application initiates communication with calibration equipment, transfers te...
Abductive planning approach for automated web service composition using only user specified inputs and outputs
Kuban, Esat Kaan; Çiçekli, Fehime Nihan; Department of Computer Engineering (2009)
In recent years, web services have become an emerging technology for communication and integration between applications in many areas such as business to business (B2B) or business to commerce (B2C). In this growing technology, it is hard to compose web services manually because of the increasing number and compexity of web services. Therefore, automation of this composition process has gained a considerable amount of popularity. Automated web service composition can be achieved either by generating the com...
Unified Process Modeling with UPROM Tool
Aysolmaz, Banu; Demirörs, Onur (2014-06-20)
UPROM tool is a business process modeling tool designed to conduct business process and user requirements analysis in an integrated way to constitute a basis for process automation. Usually, business process models are not utilized systematically to develop related artifacts, specifically when a process-aware information system is to be developed to automate those processes. This results in completeness, consistency and maintainability problems for those artifacts. Unified business process modeling methodol...
Collaborative and Cognitive Network Platforms: Vision and Research Challenges
Onur, Ertan; Hawas, Mohamed Gamal; de Groot, Sonia Marcela Heemstra; Niemegeers, Ignas G. M. M. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2011-05-01)
In this paper, we present a visionary concept referred to as Collaborative and Cognitive Network Platforms (CCNPs) as a future-proof solution for creating a dependable, self-organizing and self-managing communication substrate for effective ICT solutions to societal problems. CCNP creates a cooperative communication platform to support critical services across a range of business sectors. CCNP is based on the personal network (PN) technology which is an inherently cooperative environment prototyped in the D...
DroPPPP: A P4 Approach to Mitigating DoS Attacks in SDN

Software-Defined Networking (SDN) has proven itself a useful technology for establishing and managing configurable, dynamic networks with the rapid deployment of services in the past decade. Despite these advantages, the fact that the functionality of SDN relies heavily on the controller with a much less capable data plane creates a single point of failure, which leaves the network susceptible to denial of service (DoS) attacks mainly targeting the controller to affect the operation of the whole network. An...
