Optimum topology design of various geometrically nonlinear latticed domes using improved harmony search method
Carbas, Serdar; Saka, Mehmet P. (2012-03-01)
Domes are elegant and economical structures used in covering large areas. They are built in various forms. According to their form, they are given special names such as lamella, network, and geodesic domes. In this paper, optimum topological design algorithm is presented that determines the optimum number of rings, the optimum height of crown and tubular section designations for the member groups of these domes. The design algorithm developed has a routine that generates the data required for the geometry o...

Optimum discrete transmit beamformer design
DEMİR, ÖZLEM TUĞFE; Tuncer, Temel Engin (2015-01-01)
In this paper, transmit beamformer design problem is considered for single group multicast case. This problem is treated in discrete phase and amplitude and converted to a linear form. The solution of this linear optimization problem is always feasible as long as the total transmit power is above a certain value. The proposed method is guaranteed to find the optimum solution. This new approach is used to design discrete phase-only (DPOB) and discrete phase-amplitude beamformers (DPAB). It is shown that the ...
Cooperative Guidance Law for High-Speed and High-Maneuverability Air Targets
Cevher, Firat Yilmaz; Leblebicioğlu, Mehmet Kemal (2023-2-01)
In this paper, a novel cooperative and predictive guidance law is proposed to intercept high-speed and high-maneuverability targets with inferior interceptors. The purpose of guidance is cooperatively covering the most-probable locations where the target may be in the future. To fulfill this purpose, predicted target states in the form of a probability density function were obtained using limited target information, i.e., noisy position data for one case and maneuverability limits for the second case, at fi...
