comakdag is a rural region consisting of five villages and six plateau settlements in the Besparmak mountain range in Milas district, Mugla province, Turkey. The simple stone masonry buildings on the rocky cliffs and the indigenous lifestyle of the local people form unique characteristics of the region. The historic urban fabric is still visible, and the traditional lifestyle continues in the region. However, the population has been decreasing, and some parts of the traditional fabric have lost their local characteristics. This article presents the typical characteristic of the comakdag houses that date from the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The aim is to introduce the rural architecture of the region and investigate the interactions between spaces and daily life. Moreover, physical interventions to adapt the houses to today's needs in the comakdag Kizilagac village are explored through observations and interviews.

Eken, Esra (2021-09-01)
Golde, officially named Incesu, is a rural settlement located in Aegean Anatolia. Orhon, Gönül Ayça; Bilgin Altınöz, Ayşe Güliz; Conservation of Cultural Heritage in Department of Architecture (2019)

The study focuses on the settlements where rural and archaeological heritage sites overlap. Today, integrated approaches to the conservation of these places are still lacking, and the focus is generally on the values and problems of the ancient city. Cengizkan, Ali (Informa UK Limited, 2010-01-01)
The Ministries Quarter, the MQ, in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, is a very interesting case for modern planning and architecture, conceptualised and developed in the first quarter of the twentieth century. As with other governmental centres and administrative hubs, it was attributed the mission of representing the political power of the newly born nation, facilitating physical, symbolic, cultural and historic channels of producing meaning. However, the successive intervention and involvement of architects,...
