PREPARATION OF MULTILAYER CAPSULES CONTAINING DODECAHYDRO-CLOSO-DODECABORATE LOADED POLYMER MICELLES
Aydemir, Umut; Erel Göktepe, İrem; Akdağ, Akın; Department of Biochemistry (2021-9-24)
Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) is a non-invasive radiotherapy technique which is based on delivery of non-radioactive 10B compounds to cancer cells and irradiation of the tumour tissues with low energy thermal neutrons. It is a promising radiotherapy technique due to reduce the side effects of the treatment. The main goal of this thesis is to prepare a non-toxic polymer vehicle to provide efficient delivery of 10B to cancer cells. Dodecahydro-closo-dodecaborate (B12H12)2- (B12) anion was utilized as a...
Preparation and characterization of polystyrene-b-poly(2-vinylpyridine) coordinated to metal or metal ion nanoparticles
Öztürk, Yurdagül; Kaleli, Kadir; UYAR, Tamer; Kayran İşçi, Ceyhan; Hacaloğlu, Jale (2014-03-01)
In this study, Co, Cr or Au3+ functional polystyrene-block-poly(2-vinylpyridine), PS-b-P2VP complexes were prepared and characterized. Coordination of metal atom or ion to nitrogen atom of pyridine rings was confirmed by FTIR analyses. The strength and efficiency of coordination of P2VP blocks to Co, Cr or Au3+ mainly depends on charge and stability of the complex formed that is mainly related to the energy of d orbitals. The results reveal that the thermal stability of the polymer composite formed increases...

Preparation of BTS-BCT thin films by chemical solution deposition and their characterization /
Akbay, Berk; Özenbaş, Ahmet Macit; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2015)
In the presented thesis, lead-free Ba(Ti0.88Sn0.12)O3-0.3(Ba0.7Ca0.3)TiO3 (BTS-BCT) thin films were deposited on (111)-Pt/TiO2/SiO2/(100)-Si substrates using chemical solution deposition method and then the effect of process parameters were investigated to obtain optimum parameters of these lead-free thin films. The phase was selected near to the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) to increase the number of polarization directions where rhombohedral and tetragonal phases exist together. In this study, the eff...
