Measurement of the production cross sections for a Z boson and one or more b jets in pp collisions at root s=7 TeV
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2014-06-01)
The production of a Z boson, decaying into two leptons and produced in association with one or more b jets, is studied using proton-proton collisions delivered by the LHC at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. The data were recorded in 2011 with the CMS detector and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 5 fb(-1). The Z(ll) + b-jets cross sections (where ll = mu mu or ee) are measured separately for a Z boson produced with exactly one b jet and with at least two b jets. In addition, a cross section ratio i...
Measurement of the jet mass in highly boosted t(t)over-bar events from pp collisions at root s=8TeV
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2017-07-01)
The first measurement of the jet mass m(jet) of top quark jets produced in t (t) over bar events from pp collisions at root s = 8 TeV is reported for the jet with the largest transverse momentum p(T) in highly boosted hadronic top quark decays. The data sample, collected with the CMS detector, corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb(-1). The measurement is performed in the lepton+jets channel in which the products of the semileptonic decay t -> bW with W -> l nu where l is an electron or muon, ar...
Measurement of WZ and ZZ production in pp collisions at in final states with b-tagged jets
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2014-08-01)
Measurements are reported of the WZ and ZZ production cross sections in proton-proton collisions at in final states where one Z boson decays to b-tagged jets. The other gauge boson, either W or Z, is detected through its leptonic decay (either , or , , or ). The results are based on data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 18.9 fb collected with the CMS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The measured cross sections, and , are consistent with next-to-leading order quantum chromodynamics calculat...
