Cr-added nickel sulfides as electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction
Uygur, Cansu Savaş; Aydınol, Mehmet Kadri (2023-04-01)
Ni0.5-xCrxS compounds (x = 0, 0.02, 0.33) as electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) were synthesized by a microwave-assisted route that provided an increased surface area. It was found that the OER performance of the NiS electrocatalyst was enhanced by chromium addition. Chromium incorporation was evidenced with Rietveld refinement and XPS analysis. Peak position shifts in the XPS spectra and increases in the lattice parameters a and c indicated the Cr incorporation into the NiS structure. Enh...
Co-firing biomass with coal in bubbling fluidized bed combustors
Göğebakan, Zuhal; Selçuk, Nevin; Department of Chemical Engineering (2007)
Co-firing of biomass with coal in fluidized bed combustors is a promising alternative which leads to environmentally friendly use of coal by reducing emissions and provides utilization of biomass residues. Therefore, effect of biomass share on gaseous pollutant emissions from fluidized bed co-firing of various biomass fuels with high calorific value coals have extensively been investigated to date. However, effect of co-firing of olive residue, hazelnut shell and cotton residue with low calorific value lign...
Co-sputtered Cu2ZnTi(S:Se)(4) absorbers for thin film solar cells
Batibay, Derya; OCAK, YUSUF SELİM; GENİŞEL, MUSTAFA FATİH; Turan, Raşit (Elsevier BV, 2020-01-01)
Thin film solar cells are an exciting topic for low cost and high efficient solar cells. Owing to the high price of the indium metal in the fabrication of copper indium gallium diselenide (CIGS) solar cells, Cu2ZnSn(SSe)(4) thin films are used as a new material to reduce the cost and increase the efficiency. As an alternative absorber material for solar cell production, Cu2ZnTi(S:Se)(4) thin films were deposited by the co-sputtering method at various temperatures. During the deposition, Cu, ZnSe and Ti targ...
Cu-catalyzed selective mono-n-heteroarylation of chiral diamines & asymmetric conjugate addition of dibenzoylmethane to trans-beta-nitrostyrene
Ünver, Muhammet Yağız; Tanyeli, Cihangir; Department of Chemistry (2013)
In the first part of the thesis, a new methodology has been developed to desymmetrize trans-(R,R)-cyclohexane-1,2-diamine, a C2-symmetrical most demanding chiral backbone, by using copper chemistry (modified Ullman). Various halo substituted nitrogen heteroaromatic compounds were selectively introduced to one of the diamine unit. 10 novel coupling products were synthesized in a single step procedure. These resultant coupling products have amidine motifs which can be valuable candidates as a basic catalophor...
Cu(In,Ga)(Se,Te)(2) pentenary thin films formed by reaction of precursor layers
Atasoy, Y.; Basol, B. M.; POLAT, İSMAİL; TOMAKİN, MURAT; Parlak, Mehmet; BACAKSIZ, EMİN (2015-10-01)
Sodium doped CuIn(1 - x) Ga-x(Se(1 - y) Te-y)(2) (CIGST) thin films were grown on Mo-coated soda lime glass substrates by a two-stage technique. The effects of Te content and annealing temperature on the microstructural characteristics and phase segregation in CIGST thin films were studied. It was observed that presence of Ga in these films affected the kinetics of the reaction and phase formation and largely eliminated the separation of the Te-rich phase towards the Mo surface, which was previously observe...
