Birçok paydaşı olan mimari tasarım ve inşaat süreçleri Endüstri 4.0 ile birlikte sorgulanmaya başlamış ve farklı ölçeklerde değişime uğramaktadır. Bu yazıda Mimarlık 4.0 olarak adlandırılan bu dönüşüm, tasarım süreçlerinin bina bilgi modelleri ile birlikte, sürecin tüm paydaşlarının katılımı ile şekillenmesi, sadece tasarım ve yapım aşaması ile değil yapıların tüm yaşam döngülerinin de bu sürecin bir parçası olması, akıllı ve etkileşimli yapılar, inşaat teknolojilerinin hızlı değişimi, yeni malzemeler ve tüm bunların sonucu ortaya çıkan yeni mimari tektonik özellikleri tanımlanabilir.Bir yanda eklemeli imalat teknolojileri ile model ve son ürün arasındaki sınırlar kaybolmakta, ro- botik üretim ile yeni malzeme ve yapı elemanları araştırılmakta, öte yanda inşaat süreci endüstri- yel bir montaj hattına evrilerek farklı yerlerde farklı biçimlerde üretilen yapı elemanlarının bir araya getirildiği, yönetildiği bir sürece dönüşmektedir. Bu bağlamda üretim teknolojilerinin mimarlıktaki etkilerini daha iyi anlamak amacıyla farklı üretim teknolojilerinin potansiyellerini anlamak ve tasarım ile inşa/yapma eylemi arasındaki diyaloğu doğru kurmak önem kazanmıştır. Sayısal ortamın verdiği biçimsel özgürlük ile büyük veri, bulut teknolojileri, sayısal ikizler, yapay zeka, arttırılmış gerçeklik, hızlı prototipleme araçları tasarım süreçlerinin doğal bir parçası olur- ken, tüm bu tasarımların yaşama geçirilmesinde üretim teknolojileri ve malzeme araştırmaları be- lirleyici olmaktadır.
