Range/doppler ambiguity resolution for medium prf radars
Çuhadaroğlu, Burak; Canatan, Fatih; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2008)
Range and Doppler measurement of targets for medium PRF radars is handicapped by folding and blind regions. This requires use of multiple PRFs and a resolver algorithm. The aim of the thesis is to develop various algorithms for the task and estimate their performance. Four different range and Doppler resolver algorithms and a test software is developed by using Matlab ® GUI and their performances due to the selected radar parameters in a multi- target environment are examined.
Experimental analysis of flow structure on moderate sweep delta wing
Öztürk, İlhan; Yavuz, Mehmet Metin; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2014)
Experimental investigation of flow over a 45° moderate swept delta wing is performed using laser illuminated smoke visualization, surface pressure measurements, and Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA) techniques in low-speed wind tunnel. The formation of leading-edge vortices and their breakdown, and three-dimensional separation from the surface of the wing are studied at broad range of attack angles and Reynolds numbers. Smoke visualizations are performed at three different cross flow planes along with vortex a...
Earthquake focal mechanism analysis of Central Anatolia
Birsoy, Seda; Özacar, Atilla Arda; Department of Geological Engineering (2018)
Anatolian interior is characterized by large lateral and vertical displacements and a complex tectonic history. Especially, Central Anatolia is located between escape tectonics in the east and extensional deformation in the west. The nature of this transition is still under much debate and requires detailed analysis of active tectonic stresses within the region. In this study, regional moment tensor inversion is performed for 29 earthquakes with M>3.5 recorded between 2013-2015 by a temporary broadband seis...
Sedimentology, cyclostratigraphy, sequence stratigraphy and geochemistry of the middle eocene lacustrine-marine oil-shales transition, Mudurnu Göynük basin, NW Anatolia, Turkey
Afridi, Bakht Zamir; Yılmaz, İsmail Ömer; Department of Geological Engineering (2019)
Continuous studied successions of the Middle Eocene, Mudurnu-Göynük basin, in the NW Anatolia indicate a transition from marine-influence lacustrine to marine environment due to the relative rise in sea-level, which was separated by barrier deposits. Different lithofacies are identified in the studied sections, including limestone, marl, oil-shale, calcareous sandstone, conglomeratic and bio-calcirudite. Number of fossil assemblages are recorded including ostracods, charophyte gyrogonites, gastropods, bival...
