Reservoir analysis by well log data
Kök, Mustafa Verşan; Ersoy, Gizem (Informa UK Limited, 2005-04-01)
The aim of this research is to describe and characterize the reservoir sections by well log data. Well logs are used to examine the porosity, water saturation and true resistivity properties of the reservoir. Throughout the project, the data is processed using geostatistical tests that are frequency, histograms, auto-correlation, cross-correlations, linear and multiple regression analysis to find the relations between the variables. Statistical analyses are performed using SPSS software. From the output of ...
Reservoir heterogeneity of Ordovician sandstone reservoir (Bedinan Formation, SE Turkey): Diagenetic and sedimentological approachs
Yildiz, Gokay; Yılmaz, İsmail Ömer (Elsevier BV, 2020-08-01)
The sandstone-bearing reservoir levels (Bedinan Formation) in the Diyarbakir Basin, SE Turkey show strong heterogeneity in porosity, permeability and capillary pressure, which influences oil production rates of the studied 6 wells and beclouds the prediction of hydrocarbon reserves. Therefore, comprehensive understanding of the sandstone reservoir characteristics has been necessitated to optimize its ultimate hydrocarbon recovery, maximize its lifetime and to make more accurate performance predictions for t...
FLOOD HAZARD ANALYSIS DUE TO OVERTOPPING OF DALAMAN AKKOPRU DAM: A CASE STUDY
Yılmaz, Kutay; Oruç, Yunus; Darama, Yakup; Melek, Abiddin Berhan; Ünal, Çağla Irmak (2022-07-01)
A study was made to determine the hypothetical failure of the Dalaman Akköprü Dam by overtopping failure mechanisms. For this purpose, a 2D Hydraulic Model was constructed using HEC-RAS to determine the propagation of flood due to the failure of the dam body for this case. Froehlich equations were used to predict breaching parameters of the Akköprü Dam. After the calibration of the hydraulic model, the hydraulic model was run to determine the possible flooding of Ortaca, Dalaman, and Köyceğiz towns. Ana...
Weir velocity formulation for sharp-crested rectangular weirs
GHARAHJEH, Siamak; Aydın, İsmail; Altan Sakarya, Ayşe Burcu (2015-03-01)
Discharge in open channels can be measured by sharp-crested rectangular weirs. Generally, measured head over the weir crest is substituted into an empirical formula derived from energy considerations to calculate the discharge. Assumptions made on the derivation are taken into account by defining a discharge coefficient that fits into the experimental data. In this study, a physical quantity, the average velocity over the weir section defined as 'weir velocity' is directly formulated as function of weir geo...
