We present results concerning the nitriding e ects on phase transformations inFe { 40 at. % Mn and Fe { 50 at. % Mn alloys. These alloys were studied by meansof X-ray di raction and M ̈ossbauer-e ect spectroscopy methods at room tempera-ture. Results indicate that, after nitriding, in the absorption spectra of these alloysappears lines with hyper ne eld H330 kOe which corresponds to the eld on the57Fe nuclei in the-Fe. Annealing of the alloys at 650C temperature (nitridingtemperature) in a...
Effect of the Cu Alloying on the Precipitation Behavior of Al-Mg-Si Alloys
Özer, Seren; Dericioğlu, Arcan Fehmi (null; 2018-10-27)
In the present study, the effect of varying amounts of copper (Cu) addition on the kinetics of the precipitation behavior of heat treatable 6000 series Al-Mg-Si alloys have been investigated by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Vickers microhardness measurements. Presence of Cu can greatly enhance the mechanical properties, particularly strength and hardness by refining the precipitate distribution and increasing the stability o...
Effect of Sn Alloying on the Diffusion Bonding Behavior of Al-Mg-Si Alloys
Atabay, SILA ECE; Esen, Ziya; Dericioğlu, Arcan Fehmi (2017-07-01)
Effect of Sn as an alloying element on the diffusion-bonding behavior of Al-Mg-Si alloy has been studied by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and mechanical testing of the diffusion-bonded joint. XRD results revealed the formation of Mg2Sn and (Sn) phases during solidification following induction casting. DSC results showed local liquid (Sn) formation during the bonding process for Sn-containing alloys, where its amount was found to...
