Design of wideband impedance transformers
Demir, S (2003-10-01)
Although design methods of wideband impedance transformers are known, in some cases there can be limitations on implementation. A practical limitation is the availability of the required characteristic impedance levels, particularly in antenna array feed structures.
Design of broad-band RF power amplifiers using VMOS transistors.

Design of pattern reconfigurable antenna employing RF-MEMS switches
Gök, Çağlar; Alatan, Lale; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2022-8-17)
In this thesis, the design, simulations, fabrication and measurements of reconfigurable antennas for use in 5G Massive MIMO systems are presented. 26 GHz is chosen as the operating frequency and RF-MEMS switches are used as control elements for pattern reconfiguration. As a first step, a patch antenna is designed based on the excitation of different operation modes of different resonators. A circular patch in the center and a ring resonator structure around it are used to create different radiation patterns...
Design of FIR filters with arbitrary magnitude and phase responses and powers-of-two coefficients
Çiloğlu, Tolga (1997-06-27)
The design of FIR filters with minimal implementation complexity is considered. A method is proposed for the minimization of the total number of power-of-two terms when the magnitude and phase responses are to be specifed arbitrarly. The solution to find the optimal filter gain for these type of filters (non linear-phase) is given.
Design of synchronous reluctance machines with a wide speed range
Yılmaz, Yusuf Basri; Bostancı, Emine; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2021-9-10)
Synchronous reluctance machines (SynRMs) are a good alternative for traction and industrial applications due to their good power density, low cost and high efficiency. However, they suffer from high torque ripple, low power factor and poor high speed performance due to their singly excited nature. To overcome these challenges, rotor geometries are optimized to get a low torque ripple and ferrite magnets are inserted in the flux barriers to get a higher power factor and a better high speed performance. Thi...
