This study focuses on a relatively under-studied subject within the literature of far right populism. By using the operational code construct (Leites 1951, 1953; George 1969, Walker 2000) we depict foreign policy belief systems of eight populist far right leaders in Europe. In line with this research question, we test the following hypotheses: (i) In terms of foreign policy belief systems , these populist far right leaders share a common pattern. (ii) These leaders' foreign policy belief system are significantly different from the world leaders norming group (Malici and Buckner 2008). More specifically, P1, P4 and I1 scores (master beliefs) of far right leadership will be compared to those of 'norming' group' leaders and statistical significance tests will be conducted. The results will be discussed in connection with a policy area such as the EU integration and immigration.

The study aims at putting forth a historical analysis required both to take the issues of the Middle East studies ...

Systemic change and elite transition: a neoclassical realist appraisal to the political and economic transformation in Russia and China since the 1970s
Şahin, Mehme; Tayfur, Mehmet Fatih; Department of International Relations (2019)
The main purpose of this study is to understand the systemic transition from a neoclassical realist perspective. The effects of the increasing capitalism on great powers since the 1970s are analyzed to examine transition. Therefore, the two great powers in the international system, namely Russia and China, are taken as analytical tools. Since neoclassical realism emphasizes domestic determinants of states, this study focuses on elite preferences of China and Russia. In this regard, the liberal international...
Architecture, revolution and temporality: the Soviet avant-garde and the politics of modernism
Demirok, Görkem; Sargın, Güven Arif; Department of Architecture (2017)

To that end, affirmative and negative characteristics of modernism and the avant-garde in their relation to modernity and the capitalist mode of production are examined, and their over-identification with capitalism is questioned. Thereafter, the Soviet context of modernism and the avant-garde are analyzed through the temporal conception of Bolshevism. The study claims t...
Toplumsal Yapı Ve Eğitim
Ersoy, Melih (Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Architecture, 1976)
