A Novel Characterization Method for MEMS Based Electrostatic Resonators for Q Enhancement and Feedthrough Current Elimination
AYDIN GÖL, EBRU; Kangul, M.; Gökce, Fuat; Zorlu, O.; Külah, Haluk (2016-11-03)
This paper introduces a new technique for electrostatic resonance characterization based on 2nd harmonic distortion terms at the output current. Mathematical analysis of the output current shows that the 2nd harmonic component exhibits higher quality factor (Q) than the 1st harmonic. Besides, output current to feedthrough current ratio is higher in the 2nd harmonic term. Experimental results show that the Q of the resonating system is enhanced by 66% with 2nd harmonic operation. Moreover, the resonance peak...
A novel urea conductometric biosensor based on zeolite immobilized urease
Kirdeciler, Salih Kaan; Soy, Esin; Öztürk, Seçkin; Kucherenko, Ivan; Soldatkin, Oleksandr; Dzyadevych, Sergei; Akata Kurç, Burcu (2011-09-15)
A new approach was developed for urea determination where a thin film of silicalite and zeolite Beta deposited onto gold electrodes of a conductometric biosensor was used to immobilize the enzyme. Biosensor responses, operational and storage stabilities were compared with results obtained from the standard membrane methods for the same measurements. For this purpose, different surface modification techniques, which are simply named as Zeolite Membrane Transducers (ZMTs) and Zeolite Coated Transducers (ZCTs)...
A novel conducting polymer based platform for ethanol sensing
Kekec, Nur Cicek; Kanik, Fulya Ekiz; UDUM, YASEMİN; HIZLIATEŞ, CEVHER GÜNDOĞDU; ERGÜN, Mustafa Yavuz; Toppare, Levent Kamil (2014-03-01)
Anew amperometric ethanol biosensor was fabricated for sensitive and rapid analysis of ethanol. For this purpose, a novel monomer, 9-methyl-9H-carbazole-3-carbohydrazine (MCCH), was designed and electrochemically polymerized on a graphite electrode to achieve a conducting and effective immobilization matrix for enzyme immobilization. Due to the presence of amino groups in the structure of conducting polymer, alcohol oxidase molecules were covalently immobilized onto the functional polymer which brought an e...
A biomimetic growth factor delivery strategy for enhanced regeneration of iliac crest defects

The importance of provision of growth factors in the engineering of tissues has long been shown to control the behavior of the cells within the construct and several approaches were applied toward this end. In nature, more than one type of growth factor is known to be effective during the healing of tissue defects and their peak concentrations are not always simultaneous. One of the most recent strategies includes the delivery of a combination of growth factors with the dose and timing to mimic the natural ...
