a(0)K(+)K(-) vertex in light cone QCD sum rules
Gokalp, A; Yılmaz, Osman (American Physical Society (APS), 2004-04-01)
We investigate the a(0)K(+)K(-) vertex in the framework of light cone QCD sum rules. We estimate the coupling constant g(a0)K(+)K(-) which is an essential ingredient in the analysis of physical processes involving the a(0)(980) meson. Our result is somewhat larger than the previous determinations of this coupling constant.
A T(c) formula and the isotope effect for strong-coupled superconductors
Tüblek, Aytekin; Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (Informa UK Limited, 1994-01-01)
In this study we obtain analytically the transition temperature T(c) which is similar to the one due to Allen and Dynes, and the isotope effect. Using the Eliashberg theory that includes both the electron-electron and electron-phonon interactions in superconductors, we calculate the transition temperature T(c) and the coefficient alpha of the isotope effect for a group of superconductors under study.
A Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici secreted protein activates plant immunity at the cell surface
Dagvadorj, Bayantes; Duggan, Cian; Özketen, Ahmet Çaglar; Andaç, Ayşe; Bozkurt, Tolga Osman; Akkaya, Mahinur S. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2017-4-25)
Pathogens secrete effector proteins to suppress host immunity, mediate nutrient uptake and subsequently enable parasitism. However, on non-adapted hosts, effectors can be detected as non-self by host immune receptors and activate non-host immunity. Nevertheless, the molecular mechanisms of effector triggered non-host resistance remain unknown. Here, we report that a small cysteine-rich protein PstSCR1 from the wheat rust pathogen Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst) activates immunity in the non-host s...
B decays in an asymmetric left-right model
Frank, Mariana; Hayreter, Alper; Turan, İsmail (American Physical Society (APS), 2010-08-25)
Motivated by recently observed disagreements with the standard model predictions in B decays, we study b -> d, s transitions in an asymmetric class of SU(2)(L) x SU(2)(R) x U(1)(B-L) models, with a simple one-parameter structure of the right-handed mixing matrix for the quarks, which obeys the constraints from kaon physics. We use experimental constraints on the branching ratios of b -> s gamma, b -> ce (nu) over bar (e), and B-d,s(0) - (B) over barB(d,s)(0) mixing to restrict the parameters of the model: g...
