In this article we study the convergence of the positions of a multi-agent system in a cyclic pursuit under asynchronism and time delays. Each agent is assumed to operate on an infinite sequence of behaviors modeled by a finite state machine, which is represented by a discrete asynchronous mathematical model on a higher-level. The results on the convergence of the synchronous model are used in the proof of convergence of the asynchronous system. Numerical simulations are also performed to verify the theoretical results.

Recent results on Bayesian Cramér-Rao bounds for jump Markov systems
Fritsche, Carsten; Orguner, Umut; Svensson, Lennart; Gustafsson, Fredrik (2016-07-08)
In this paper, recent results on the evaluation of the Bayesian Cramer-Rao bound for jump Markov systems are presented. In particular, previous work is extended to jump Markov systems where the discrete mode variable enters into both the process and measurement equation, as well as where it enters exclusively into the measurement equation. Recursive approximations are derived with finite memory requirements as well as algorithms for checking the validity of these approximations are established. The tightnes...
Design of Circling Around a Target Controllers for Mobile Robots by Feedback Linearization

Unlike the studies in the literature utilizing pre-generated paths for tracking circular trajectories by mobile robots, in this study the circling around a target problem is considered as a periodic system problem and the states in the system kinematics are forced to converge to periodical trajectories. We propose controllers for the circling around a target behavior of mobile robots developed by static and dynamic feedback linearization techniques. We derive the conditions on the underdamped and overdamped...
Electromagnetic interaction complexity reduction using deep learnin
Karaosmanoğlu, Barışcan; Ergül, Özgür Salih; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2019)
In this thesis, we present a novel approach to accelerate electromagnetic simulations by the multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA). The strategy is based on a progressive elimination of electromagnetic interactions, resulting in trimmed tree structures, during iterative solutions. To systematically perform such eliminations, artificial neural network (ANN) models are constructed and trained to estimate errors in updated surface current coefficients. These column eliminations are supported by straightf...
Nonlinear resonances of axially functionally graded beams rotating with varying speed including Coriolis effects
Lotfan, Saeed; Anamagh, Mirmeysam Rafiei; Bediz, Bekir; Ciğeroğlu, Ender (2021-11-01)
The purpose of the current study was to develop an accurate model to investigate the nonlinear resonances in an axially functionally graded beam rotating with time-dependent speed. To this end, two important features including stiffening and Coriolis effects are modeled based on nonlinear strain relations. Equations governing the axial, chordwise, and flapwise deformations about the determined steady-state equilibrium position are obtained, and the rotating speed variation is considered as a periodic distur...
