Optimization of Mesa Structured InGaAs Based Photodiode Arrays
Dolas, M. Halit; Çırçır, Kübra; Kocaman, Serdar (2017-04-13)
We design lattice matched InP/In0.53Ga0.47As mesa structured heterojunction p-n photodiodes with a novel passivation methodology based on a fully depleted thin p-InP layer. Mesa-structured detectors are targeted due to their competitive advantages for applications such as multicolor/hyperspectral imaging. Test detector pixels with different perimeter/area ratios are fabricated with and without etching thin InP passivation layer between pixels in order to comparatively examine passivating behavior. I-V chara...
Optimization of compact electromagnetic energy harvesters for wireless sensor applications
Yaşar, Oğuz; Külah, Haluk; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2017)
The developments in wireless sensor systems force researchers to analyze how to satisfy power requirements of these systems. Batteries can be the main candidate to be used as power source; however, they affect negatively the continuity of the wireless systems due to their limited lifetime. In order to provide continuous power source, energy harvester modules are proposed. With the advancements on IC technology, it is possible to convert extracted energies to power sources for the sensors operating in wirele...
Evaluation of Integrated Pollution Prevention Control in a textile fiber production and dyeing mill
Ozturk, Emrah; KARABOYACI, Mustafa; Yetiş, Ülkü; YİĞİT, Nevzat Özgü; KİTİŞ, Mehmet (Elsevier BV, 2015-02-01)
Cleaner production assessment studies were conducted in a textile mill employing wool and acrylic fiber production and subsequent dyeing. A company-wide mass-balance analysis was performed. Various specific consumptions, emissions and waste generations were determined. The performance of the mill was evaluated based on BREF Documents. Water quality analysis indicated that process wastewaters from wool yarn softening, LP-VP printing machines and acrylic yarn washing could be reused in these processes, even w...
Evaluation of radiometric camera response recovery methods
Gençtav, Aslı; Akyüz, Ahmet Oğuz (2011-12-15)
The camera response function determines the relationship between the incident light on the camera sensor and the output pixel values that are produced. For most consumer cameras, this function is proprietary and needs to be estimated to create HDR images that accurately represent the light distribution of the captured scene. Several methods have been proposed in the literature to estimate this unknown mapping using multiple exposures techniques. In this study, we compare three of the most commonly used meth...
Evaluation of energy and buffer aware application mapping for networks-on-chip
Celik, Cokun; Bazlamaçcı, Cüneyt Fehmi (Elsevier BV, 2014-06-01)
Networks-on-Chip (NoC) is a communication paradigm for Systems-on-Chip (SoC). NoC design flow contains many problems, one of which is called as application mapping problem, which is generally solved in the literature by considering minimization of the communication energy consumption only. Energy and Buffer Aware Application Mapping (EBAM) is a recently proposed method, which handles the application mapping issue as a joint optimization problem for minimizing the energy consumption and buffer utilization si...
