The Math Forum is an online resource center for pre-algebra, algebra, geometry and pre-calculus. Its Virtual Math Teams (VMT) service provides an integrated web-based environment for small teams of people to discuss math and to work collaboratively on math problems or explore interesting mathematical micro-worlds together. The VMT Project studies the online math discourse that takes place during sessions of virtual math teams working on open-ended problem-solving tasks. In particular, it investigates methods of group cognition that are employed by teams in this setting. The VMT environment currently integrates social networking, synchronous text chat, a shared whiteboard for drawing, web browsers and an asynchronous wiki for exchanging findings within the larger community. A simple version of MathML is supported in the whiteboard, chat and wiki for displaying mathematical expressions. The VMT Project is currently integrating the dynamic mathematics application, GeoGebra, into its collaboration environment. This will create a multi-user version of GeoGebra, which can be used in concert with the chat, web browsers, curricular topics and wiki repository.

Multi user support for virtual geogebra teams
Stahl, Gerry; Jim, Ou; Çakır, Murat Perit; Steve, Weimar; Goggins, Sean (null; 2011-07-27)
The Math Forum is an online resource center for pre-algebra, algebra, geometry and pre-calculus. Its Virtual Math Teams (VMT) service provides an integrated web-based environment for small teams to discuss mathematics. The VMT collaboration environment now includes the dynamic mathematics application, GeoGebra. It offers a multi-user version of GeoGebra, which can be used in concert with VMT’s chat, web browsers, curricula and wiki repository.
Cognitive analysis of students’ learning of trigonometry in dynamic geometry environment : a teaching experiment
Şahin, Zülal; Erbaş, Ayhan Kürşat; Department of Secondary Science and Mathematics Education (2015)
Trigonometry is a part of mathematics in which algebra and geometry converge. Dealing with trigonometric functions at secondary level is known as a difficult task because it requires to work with right triangles, the unit circle, and graphs of trigonometric functions simultaneously. For most students, this means excessive amount of formulas unless they can establish connections among different representational systems. There is a consensus in the literature that appropriate use of technology can be effectiv...
NONCOMMUTATIVE HOLOMORPHIC FUNCTIONAL CALCULUS, AFFINE AND PROJECTIVE SPACES FROM NC-COMPLETE ALGEBRAS
Dosi, A. (American Mathematical Society (AMS), 2020-01-01)
The paper is devoted to a noncommutative holomorphic functional calculus and its application to noncommutative algebraic geometry. A description is given for the noncommutative (infinite-dimensional) affine spaces A(q)(x), 1 = 0, are calculated.
Generating functions and their applications
Bilgin, Begül; Doğanaksoy, Ali; Department of Cryptography (2010)
Generating functions are important tools that are used in many areas of mathematics and especially statistics. Besides analyzing the general structure of sequences and their asymptotic behavior; these functions, which can be roughly thought as the transformation of sequences into functions, are also used effciently to solve combinatorial problems. In this thesis, the effects of the transformations of generating functions on their corresponding sequences and the effects of the change in sequences on the gene...
Boundary integral solution of MHD pipe flow
Tezer, Münevver; Bozkaya, Canan (null; 2016-07-10)
The process of modeling of physical systems into mathematical problems as a set ofeither algebraic or differential equations is illustrated schematically. The need for com-putational methods and related problems in numerical solutions are discussed givingsome challenging physical models. Components of a numerical solution method isshown with several discretization methods. As a special application in fluid dynamics, the boundary integral solution ofmagnetohydrodynamic (MHD) pipe flo...
