B -> K(K*) plus missing energy in unparticle physics
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Gaur, Naveen (2007-07-01)
In the present work we study the effects of an unparticle U as the possible source of missing energy in the decay B -> K(K*) + missing energy. We find that the dependence of the differential branching ratio on the K(K*)-meson's energy in the presence of the vector unparticle operators is very distinctive from that of the SM. Moreover, in using the existing upper bound on B -> K(K*) + missing energy decays, we have been able to put more stringent constraints on the parameters of unparticle stuff.
b -> s gamma decay in the two Higgs doublet model with flavour changing neutral currents
Alıyev, Tahmasıb (IOP Publishing, 1999-05-01)
We study the b --> s gamma decay including the next-to-leading QCD corrections in the two Higgs doublet model with flavour changing neutral currents at the tree level. We find the constraints to the flavour changing parameters of the model, using the experimental results on the branching ratio of B --> X(s)gamma decay, provided by the CLEO Collaboration. The restrictions coming from the Delta F = 2 (F = K, D, B) mixing and the rho parameter.
B-s ->gamma gamma decay in two and three Higgs doublet models with CP violating effects
Boz, M; Iltan, EO (2000-09-01)
We analyze the CP asymmetry for B-s-->gamma gamma in the two Higgs doublet model with tree level flavor changing currents (model III) and the three Higgs doublet model with O-2 symmetry in the Higgs sector, including O-7 type long distance effects. Further, we study the dependencies of the branching ratio Br (B-s-->gamma gamma) and the ratio of CP-even and CP-odd amplitude squares, R = \A(+)\(2)/\A(-)\(2), on the CP parameter sin theta. We find that there is a weak CP asymmetry at the order of 10(-4). In ad...
B decays in an asymmetric left-right model
Frank, Mariana; Hayreter, Alper; Turan, İsmail (American Physical Society (APS), 2010-08-25)
Motivated by recently observed disagreements with the standard model predictions in B decays, we study b -> d, s transitions in an asymmetric class of SU(2)(L) x SU(2)(R) x U(1)(B-L) models, with a simple one-parameter structure of the right-handed mixing matrix for the quarks, which obeys the constraints from kaon physics. We use experimental constraints on the branching ratios of b -> s gamma, b -> ce (nu) over bar (e), and B-d,s(0) - (B) over barB(d,s)(0) mixing to restrict the parameters of the model: g...
B-spline modeling of VTEC over Turkey using GPS observations
Nohutcu, M.; Karslıoğlu, Mahmut Onur; Schmidt, M. (2010-05-01)
In this study we propose two approaches to model the Vertical Total Electron Content (VTEC) of the ionosphere with quadratic B-spline functions. For the 2-D case, VTEC is modeled in a Sun-fixed reference frame. In the 3-D approach, the 2-D model is extended to represent the temporal variations in an Earth-fixed reference frame. The localizing features of B-splines allow resolving finer structures for the regions with a sufficient number of observations by increasing the level of functions. To reduce the eff...
