Sequential congruency effect (SCE) is demonstrated by a larger Stroop effect following incongruent trials compared to congruent trials. Evidence has shown that alternation of a contextual feature eliminates SCE. In our previous study, we observed that stimulus- response contingency mediated the effects of the contextual feature on SCE: when there is a contingency, SCE generalizes across feature dimensions; but when there isnt, SCE is restricted to the contextual feature repetitions. In the present study, we directly compared the effects of repetition of the contextual feature and contingency on SCE in the same design. We used a Stroop task with four items and divided the stimuli in two sets. Stimulus organization created an S-R contingency in the first set, but not in the second set. The contextual feature was implemented by presenting Stroop words with small letters or all capital letters. Results demonstrated that the SCE was observed with both sets, and it generalized across contextual features within sets. Results suggested that the SCE generalizes across feature dimensions even when the S-R contingency was in another set in the same task.

Theoretical limits to sensitivity and resolution in magneto-acousto-electrical tomography
GHALICHI, Elyar; Gençer, Nevzat Güneri (2017-10-21)
In this study, the performance of magneto-acousto-electrical tomography (MAET) is investigated quantitatively by considering interrelations between its sensitivity, resolution and conductivity contrast. An analytical solution for the forward problem of MAET is derived for two-dimensional (2D) concentric bodies by the separation of variables method. The electric potential and the acoustic pressure are separated into their angular and radial components. The series coefficients for these solutions are obtained...

Nonuform pulse repetition interval optimization for pulse doppler radars
Mercan, Hasan; Tanık, Yalçın; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2004)
In this thesis, a method of optimization of nonuniform pulse repetition interval for pulse Doppler radars is investigated. PRI jittering technique is used for the selection of inter-pulse intervals. An environment with white Gaussian noise and clutter interference is defined and applying generalized likelihood ratio test, a sufficient statistic function for the detection of the target is derived. The effect of jitter set selection on range and Doppler ambiguity resolution and clutter rejection is investigat...
Wavelength dependence of the nonlinear absorption performance and optical limiting in Bi12TiO20 single crystal
PEPE, YASEMİN; Isik, Mehmet; KARATAY, AHMET; Hasanlı, Nızamı; ELMALI, AYHAN (2023-01-01)
In this study, the influence of excitation wavelength and input intensity on the nonlinear absorption (NA) mechanism and optical limiting behavior of the Bi12TiO20 (BTO) single crystal were reported. The energy band gap of the BTO single crystal was obtained to be 2.38 eV. Urbach energy revealed that the single crystal has a highly defective structure. Open aperture (OA) Z-scan experiments were conducted at 532 and 1064 nm excitation wavelengths at various input intensities. Obtained experimental data were ...
